Miami Vice - Crocket's Gun?

I know this is a little OT but does anyone know what type of gun that Don Johnson used in Miami Vice?
Also, any idea where I could get a descent replica?

Thanks,
Kenny

A Bren Ten...very rare, not produced anymore. Bren is for "Brno - Enfield" and Ten for the caliber used in the weapon.....The one in the T.V. serie was a special model with uncommon colours, to better appear on screen.

Marushin produced an airsoft replica with 8mm BBs but the production was also stopped long time ago !!!!

I would also be pleased to find a decent replica......

Ahh, I love my airsoft Bren10. Of course I've since removed the orange paint on the muzzle.

Don't forget to get a Galco holster for whatever pistol you end up packing!

Lucky guy.....congrats on that one, nice piece.

Funny how a 10 mm was considered to be such an exotic handgun back then.

It WAS an exotic round back then. In fact it was a brand new round which caused a minor brouhaha. People had payed in advance for their pistol and hadn't received theirs. Some people had received their pistols, but no magazines. They watched the show and saw Don Johnson with a pistol and plenty of magazines, which caused an enormous amount of trouble. They complained about the show having a Bren 10, and the excuse was that the pistols (there were two), were made from pistols that had defects and couldn't handle the pressures. What he couldn't explain was the magazines.

The Bren 10 had a steel slide, and a stainless steel frame. It was requested that the slide, and frame be hard chromed so it would match and show better. The caliber was .45 acp because the 10 mm round was so new, there were no blanks made for that caliber.

There is actually a compnay that is remaking the bren ten. Originally called the Fortus, they have now bought the right to the Bren Ten name and will be producing them under that name. I'm already on the waiting list. Gotta keep the collection going as I've got two of the original weapons. One is the standard steel frame, black slide. The other Is the Miami Vice'd Version with the polished slide.

Too funny. I was actually just looking at a Bren Ten 2 days ago. Big money for a problematic pistol. I would have bought it if I just didnt pick up a Desert Eagle .50. Props are expensive but guns can get really spendy.
