MGS5 Skull Face Cosplay

Hello, awesome people here!

This is my first time documenting a cosplay build as I have build cosplays before but didn't take photos of the progress.

I have lurked on here before making my account and was inspired by the awesome builds and helpfulness of the other users on this site.

I am doing a cosplay of Skull Face, who is based from Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, which requires working with materials I never worked with before and learning how to work with them.

Here is some reference images I've found but not all of Skull Face:

The first thing I want to tackle on this build is making of his face which I am going to be making a latex mask of his face. This is going to be the first time using materials that is involved in mask making.

I have been researching through Tested's videos on youtube with Frank Ippolito's process and other videos on mask making and felt more confident on the use of the new materials which is:

Clay sculpting
Plaster bandages
and Latex.

I have got some of the materials but not all at the moment:
2 x I litre of Latex

6 x Plaster bandages/ Plaster cloth

I don't have any sculpting clay yet but looking at Monster clay as it is said to easy to work with and manage which is good for me as first timer in sculpting.

I have found a mannequin head which was relatively cheap on eBay which where I will sculpt.

A bit creepy

That's all I got to report on at the moment. Sorry if this was a long read for a first post or image uploads because I don't know if I'm doing this right.
I'm welcome for tips and criticism throughout this build and hope to have a great time with this build.

Bought 2 x Monster Clay premium 2.2kg and it will be arriving soon.

Meanwhile I found a brown leather belt in the off-shops for $1! .

The buckle is close to what I want but still need to add a (shotgun shell band?) to one side and a key ring holder to the other side.

Like as the image shows:

Found a grey button shirt while rummaging through my closet which was a nice surprise! saved myself a bit of money for it!

It matches what one of the pictures show below:

While on the subject of clothes. For the pants, it seems like its a bit dirty and well worn but the good thing is that I still have my old black school pants. I might dirty it up but I probably still need it to be clean for occasions that requires to dress smart apart from cosplay haha!

(Sorry for the rotated images, I don't know how to rotate images on here as it was vertical on my computer)

Here's my update on Skull Face.

The monster clay arrived a couple of days ago. Today I spent about 7 hours I think on sculpting the face and here are the photos below which show progress:

I had to built up the base to make it a more male face and roughly sculpt to the measurements of my face. The nose is a bit work around as Skull Face has no cartilage in his nose which makes it shorter and differently shaped. I had to make the nose to a normal person's nose but maintain a hint of no cartilage in the nose.

I had no idea that sculpting would be so much fun that I worked non-stop apart from small breaks!

(Again, sorry for the rotated images. For now on gotta take horizontal photos on phone.)

I'm pretty happy with how the base is like and next to fine tune the details on the front and get working the ears and the back of the head.

Here's another update

Been working on the sculpture as it looks pretty good and correcting proportions such as the ears as they were too high.
I'll have to make another post to add more images.

I also found a vest online which was cheap enough and the right colour but I need to sew on lapels to it and add the XOF patch on it.
