mgs sneaking suit help?

I've decided to make the sneaking suit that Big Boss wears from Metal Gear Solid.
Due to me having no credit card, I can't order my materials online so here are some questions that I have:

What's a good replacement for the tight black suit, will a tight shirt and tight pants be alright?

Is it okay if I make the harness out of belts?

What can I use for making the gold bands, knee caps and knee braces?

What are those white triangles on Snake's arms and legs?

ya know, its all "okay" if you do something dude. Without access to internet can be tricky when you want something to be perfect, but it sounds like you're trying to get creative, so go for it! and if an idea doesnt look good to you, try something else instead!

In regards to the 'white triangles', that is the undersuit (a lighter color) showing through. The front and rear armor sections are held together on the limbs with what's essentially a parachute cord lacing. These keep tension on the armor halves like a laced-up tennis shoe, except the laces are stretchy parachute cord.
