Hey there!

A while ago, I was able to acquire a MGC Mauser for my Solo Blaster project. Now, the problem with it is that the trigger pull is very soft, you just have to touch the trigger a little bit and the hammer is released.

Now, I know the MGCs are old and usually do have their problems (on every single one I ever possessed that tiny metal piece that connected the trigger assembly to the slide was broken), but usually, they have a rather nice trigger pull. Now, I tried analyzing what the problem is and maybe if I could fix it, but to no avail. It might be one of several things:

MGC.jpg

1. The hammer is released when the marked edge is pushed upwards. It *might* be that the edge is not sharp anymore so that edge # 2 just slides under it and therefore the hammer is released.

2. It might also be that edge # 2 is worn down after lots of use. It does show some wear and tear, but I can't tell if that is the cause of the problem

3. Also, the spring/wire that pushes the brass part down (so that the trigger guard is locked in position until the trigger pushes the part upwards) seems to sit rather low, since the spot on the brass piece where the spring/wire will sit (# 3) seems to be sanded down, or probably not sanded but worn from "firing" the gun several thousand times.

Well, if anyone had similiar problems, I'd be glad about any input on how to try and fix this.

Thanks in advance and sorry for the crappy cell phone pic. :confused

Problem solved. It has an amazing trigger pull now. Although it took me quite a while to figure something out. :rolleyes
