MF's Pepakura and 3D Print Iron Man Files

Re: MF's Mk 33 - Silver Centurion, Mk 42, and Mk 45 Pepakura Files (HD Mk 45 Helmet W

A couple people claim that the figures and art we are seeing for the mark 45 differ from the in movie version. Can anyone confirm?

That is indeed a possibility.

Looks like I'm up soon :D

Yes, indeed! It should be done within a day or two, hopefully.

Cant wait to see the new HD Mark 45 Helm!!

Also waiting to build a paper pep version.

Awesome! I always love paper builds, so I'll be looking forward to that!

Do you want a complete M45 3D HD models? :cool

I know that the figure by S.H. Figuarts is not accurate, which is the one GhostMinion posted. The super alloy one looks just like the one in the movie, so I am almost 100% positive that it is accurate.

However, I think I know how the detail is. Take a look at these two different reference photos of the same thing, as you can see below. The way the light hits the the cheek looks like there is a short groove near the top. However the second one shows a dark line going diagonally up toward the back of the helmet. Both photos have smoke and embers flying around in the background and foreground, so I assume the red line on the upper image is just one of those. Another unedited photo of the same model at an event also shows the groove depicted by the second picture, so I am going to go with that.

Awesome, man! Can I see a shot of the back? I'd love to see what you did now that I added all the details to the model.

Also... Would anyone care for the completed file?:D It's on the first page ready to download! (I'm looking at you, SOUTHPAW and Gaiatron)

And here's the letter version! A slighty less pretty unfold, but I sacrifice looks for optimal paper usage.

Re: MF's Mk 33 - Silver Centurion, Mk 42, and Mk 45 Pepakura Files (Mk 45 Helmet Done

Thank you for your feedback and your kind words :) Can't wait to see the new version :D
Glad you like it! ;)

If only you had waited until my new helmet is released! It should be done soon though! As for the unfold, definitely not bad for your second attempt. You did a fantastic job organizing all the parts neatly, which is very helpful. The only thing I would do differently, would be to have less pieces. Try to keep them together if you can. Take a look at Sharkmark's Mark III helmet paper unfold, which can be found in Darkside501st's thread. It is undoubtedly the most widely used Mark III helmet, and everyone seems to like/can do the unfold it has. Another thing that would be helpful would be to set the "flat folding lines" threshold to somewhere around a value of 160, which can be found in "other settings". It'll help smooth out the model. But again, you did a really good job! Just a few things that would make it easier for construction.

Here's what I have so far on the helmet! The only thing missing is the groove line in the cheek. The photos currently available don't really do a good job of showing what it looks like, so if anyone could shed some light on that, it would be greatly appreciated.
