So after looking at the suit for a while and doing some scaling calculations, I realized that this suit cannot be worn by any human being. The suit requires an arm-span of a 6 foot tall person, the legs of a 7 foot tall person, and the torso and waist of a 5 foot tall person. (Not my fault since it was modeled based on orthographic views of the suit). Now, one could just scale the parts individually, but that would cause proportion issues that would not look good. So, I decided to re-do the suit, modifying my original files. I've also taken this opportunity to add in some more details where I did/could not earlier, due to my lack of modeling knowledge and practice. The model isn't done yet, but I'll be sure to post the updated files as soon as they come out!

Yes, very nice indeed! I always love seeing people's progress on my suit. Thanks for keeping this thread alive!

That is looking real good. Glad to see someone else interested in making the Mark 33 suit, its motivating me to start working on my mine again (hope MiddleFinger is almost done revising his files).

Show what you've done so far! I'd love to see it. And I haven't really had time to work more on the suit. It's my first year of college so I've been trying to focus on that. But! There isn't a lot left to be done. It's mainly just the upper half of the suit that needs to be tweaked. I was still getting the hang of modeling when I made those, and was much more experienced when I took on the lower half. If I have time soon, I'l get around to getting the files finished uploaded!

I have only built one other Iron Man costume (mark IV) and there were a number of new things I wanted to try when building the mark 33, so the project has actually expanded into two mark 33 suits. The first one (photos below) I am building out of foam, but I do not have a lot built at the moment. I am trying out this Smooth-On Epsilon stuff, which I am hoping will give me a nice smooth looking surface once its all sanded. The second suit I am going full on crazy with, so it is going to take a bit longer to finish . I am working on designing a full body harness that all of the parts of the costume will connect onto using magnets or something. I have also just started learning how to 3D-model so things are a little slow at the moment. Currently I have finished figuring out how the under-harness will move, and how it will open up for me to get inside. The only thing I have of the under-harness that I can show is a really reallllllly simple model I slopped together to get an idea of what shape the under-harness would be, how it would move, etc. It isn't to scale however, so its just for show.

I never made those files! But the gloves are the same for all of the different suits, as far as I know at least, and the boots and neck could be taken from the mark 3 or 4/6 and would work just fine.

I have only built...

Very clean foam build coming along! And as for the under-harness you're building... That is looking awesome so far! I don't believe I've seen a full suit that opens and closes for one to climb into (beside's Jame's Hulkbuster that is). Definitely looking forward to seeing progress on that. And I see that you have a human model underneath the armor. How are the pieces fitting or lining up? As I mentioned before in a previous post, my original files were scaled exactly to the proportions of the movie suit which wouldn't really fit over a typical body. I'll have my V2 files uploaded soon and those should be suited for better fitment.


On a side note, I just messed around with After Effects and did a tracking test of the suit.

Sorry, I guess I'm not explaining myself well enough. I am able to download your files(hence me saying I'm enjoying the build and looking forward to finishing it), but most of the full suits on, for instance, JFCustom's page will not download. No problem with yours, that's why I was hoping you would finish this. Never mind tho, I am going to use the boots and gloves from my first suit, and try to fudge something for the neck.

That is actually part of the reason I took a break from the project, I noticed (right around the time you posted on the forum) that I would be unable to wear the costume without doing some major changes by hand. I figured It would look better if i just waited for your revised version. So far, your revised version is looking real nice cant wait to get my hands on those files lol. As for your question about how everything connects.. well it is a little complicated, but to give you the short version (will probably need a diagram in the future to make it easier). The torso will be the central part of the harness, with the arm and leg portions attaching onto it though plastic buckles or something similar. The torso will open up from the back with some parts (abs) opening to the sides, while the upper back will open(which has a hinge at the back of the shoulders) opens by swinging up.

Cool! I wish I hadn't made the torso first, I would've loved the extra bits yyou've incorporated So, for your next unfokd, I humbly put a request for either the Starboost or the Striker armours please?

I honestly have no future plans to model anymore suits... But for the Starboost armor, I know that both Syrus54 and IMIM2 have great files that are definitely worth using. Also I'm finishing up the neck as you can see below!

I assume you're asking about the current scale of the files available. They're scaled for my height, and I am 6'3".

I do not have any current plans to do that, but I'll definitely let you know if I do!
