Well, it has been decided. The gun will be taken to be plated in June, God willing, so whoever has been wanting to see a completed replica of the Tri-Barrel will finally get to see it before they die. The only thing I can't decide is whether to get it chromed chromed (like the ICONS prototype), or aim for more of the finish from the film version (that polished aluminum look).

Polished aluminum sounds better. High chrome looks toy-like to me.

I think the Icons version was done all chrome, because it was the most easy option,
But the movie version would be better, do you want to call it a Icons replica or movie prop replica ?

Well, I think the primary problem was the clear coat. I don’t own an airbrush, so I used the Spaz Stix aerosol and their black backer and gloss coat. I do like the finish, but I read (and was told) that the only way to seal it without losing the chrome effect is by sealing it with that Alclad Aqua Gloss or the Liqitex Medium Varnish I think it was called. A few YouTube videos said as much also. I have started painting the deatomizer with the chrome though, so I’ll make sure and post some photos when it’s completed so you guys can see if you like the effect. Long story short but the deatomizer nothing fits together the way it should. The person who 3D printed the parts did a horrendous job on them. They even reprinted them and they still were only marginally better. That being said, I think I should be able to make it work, I just won’t be able to access the inside at all (will have to be glued to stay closed).

You and me both lol. I’m getting in the MIB 2 pistol soon. Thinking about testing a nickel plating kit for that one but I’m undecided.

On a side note, the Deatomizer is slowly coming together. A few parts need to be reprinted but it’s looking decent enough.
