Alright, since I got some free time, I though I'd share a few things.
I found these shoes and I thought that they got the right shape for the suit. They're generic football shoes which I got for around $10. Since they're generic, they're obviously not gonna be strong but with a little E600, I think it's worth a go. I separated the built in soles which was fairly easy to do.
And for the soles of the suit, I was originally planning to do the flat soles with the webbing pattern. But after weeks of trying to find a flat rubber sole, I just gave up and went ahead with the Vans-sole pattern which was also used by the stuntmen in the film.
Currently I'm finishing the left boot. Still in the process of puffy painting it. Also, in the photo, the sole is just hanging off. I glued the front part of the sole to the shoe so that I can position it correctly when I'm ready to glue the whole thing down

Unfortunately, I won't be able to suit up for the con as I have not finished the suit in time. I still have one full arm to puffy paint, one whole boot to finish (glue soles, install zippers & puffy paint), so I will be dressing up as myself :lol Asia Pop Comicon WILL premiere the first trailer for Captain America: Civil War, Paul Bettany will be there and a whole lot more. So I'm pretty excited
It's just a shame that I didn't finish my suit in time, but oh well.

It's too expensive for me. I'd rather go with the usual quick and easy puffy paint method than to go with the slow but hard process of gluing down urethane webbing.

So it looks like I won't be able to work on the suit until the second or third week of November. I intend to finish this suit by the second week of December, so I should try to finish it within that time span. Sorry if this thread is incredibly inactive.

Okay so first off, I am sorry that I am not able to keep this thread up to date. I have been working on the suit when i take breaks while doing art projects. The suit is basically finished, I have finished both boots just now, and i am currently puffy painting the other half of the right boot. The only thing that I really need to work on is the right arm and the fingertips for each hand and I'm 100% done with the suit. I forgot to take pictures of the process of gluing down the soles to the boots, apologies for that. But once I am finished with the suit, I WILL post pics. Meanwhile, here's a little teaser for you.

No photoshoot pics yet, but I do have amateur pics of the suit when I wore it at a school festival!
And here's the only good one so far which shows off the suit pretty decently...

"Not possible to keep the invisible zippers hidden." If some one told me that I would ask the seamstress if they had seen any movies, because those costume makers are wizards at hiding zippers right in front of your eyes and yet are never seen. They seriously can't tell you its not possible when its been done a thousand times.

That's why I sewed them myself and made them invisible.

For the front spider? I got the rubber sheet from a cheap mousepad with a rubber bottom that i found at a store along the market. I wouldn't recommend it though, since it's starting to tear
