Mattel Ghost Trap?

Got my order confirmation yesterday and I'm in NJ. I've ordered all the 12" figures and PKE from them and never had a problem yet, so let's hope that this trap goes just as well as everything else.

The only problem I do have is the tracking. The figures and PKE came UPS with UPS tracking of course. The Newgistics or whatever it's called tracking is pretty lame IMO...but if this thing arrives I'm not that concerned, just was more impressed with Matty Collector's customer service before...oh well. :rolleyes

Hey guys my credit card info was swiped after buying one of these. Given the potential importance I created a thread about it with more info. But the quick version is I'd check to see if there is any unauthorized charges on your card. I had 2.

Same thing just happened to me. Warning to everyone check for fraudulent charges. My card is frozen will call tomorrow to find specifics. Might just be an error in matty's billing system because it happened right after I got an email that said trap has shipped. We'll see.

Yeah, but this is an old thread, they ask and they did the Trap, so I would wonder if they make the pack unless they ask a 2nd time for a prop, and that doesn't happen, because I dont believe that they will work on other GB related stuff, shortly before the line comes to an end...

Based on that old thread I don't think they'll make the pack. Almost everyone who said they wanted one were also saying "I'd pay $200-$300 for it"...

Laughable! :behave

Their pricing for the offerings thus far has been bang on IMO and cheaper than just about anything else you can find in the market but $300 for a full pack with lights and SFX?

I'd be interested in a set of goggles, but only if the price is decently low. I can't imagine they could get a pack to a reasonable price, so this is probably going to be the last prop they do. I'll keep my pack for now.

I could see them producing something of quality for about $500-$800. Still a steal for someone who knows what they're buying but the average buyer will probably gawk at the price. It's a shame, if their products thus far are any indication it would be really nice. :)

I wouldn't mind a pair of goggles to replace my ghetto ones though!

As far as holstering, someone over at gbfans already adapted it easily to fit on a standard holster using dixie hooks. That means odds are using a proper v hook, or even the flush picture hangers should be easy.

The only thing he was concerned about was hanging the pedal by that fake ribbon cable... I think that will probably have to be replaced with the real deal.

The thing is, that thread is not THAT old, its from February this year, and they asked and we got the trap. I do not know why anyone would think this will be the last one they do regardless of pack or goggles or whatever....these sold out in 48 hours.

We'll have to wait and see what they decide to do, but I will not out any bets either way that we will get anything like a pack for 2012. Despite the price people want or whatever they charge, they will sell out just the same.

Anyone check there bank or CC account.

I was told yesterday I would be refunded my shipping charges.

Lets just say I was refunded big time! :love

Idk if this just a glitch in the system or it will be rebilled later.

A whole pack? Doubtful.

A working neutrona wand that can be attached to a fan-made pack, but not necessarily? likely.

Well they might do replicas of the Ghostbusters 2 stuff, but that stuff was such crap I'll pass. I might be interested if they do a replica of the Real Ghostbusters PKE meter though.

That does bring a good point, they can do about anything from GB2 and the Real Ghostbusters still too. So maybe a gigameter from GB2 next year. But I'm still hoping for the full blown pack.

If they ever do get round to it, they could probably do like (whoever it was) did with the Extreme GB toys and release the wand and pack separately. I'm guessing $150 - $200 for the wand and around $300 - $400 for the pack wouldn't be too bad (for us or them :rolleyes).

At least that way the cost is spread out for us, although the only problem would be the cost involved to build both parts to an acceptable level, i.e. not a complete plastic moulding. Maybe they could sell incomplete kits, ready for us to finish to a decent standard. That way we get some decent quality, and they still make sales.

But then, what's the difference in buying a kit pack yourself..? These may all be reasons why they decide to NEVER release a proton pack.

P.S. I'm a UK buyer and still haven't received a shipment notification, so the rest of you can count yourselves lucky! And remember, this is a very sought after prop (and rightly so!) and it has only been 4 days since they were up for sale, so i'm not too bothered about waiting a few more days.
