An no, the is not an April Fool's joke.
THIS IS IMPORTANT! One of my wonderful partners is suing me for TWO MILLION dollars, claiming that it is completely my fault that MRG went bankrupt. He is also claiming that they had NO idea of what I was doing for three years and only found out at the end, that the business was insolvent. That is patently absurd, as most of the partners were involved with the company on an almost-daily basis for three years. Their entire complaint is a total fabrication and everyone who worked there and read it, agrees with me that it is patently false.
Remember, these are folks that not only caused the problem, they also are the ones that filed the bankruptcy without even bothering to tell me. I had an extensive plan to keep the company going and get the HALs shipped and they outright ignored it and filed chapter 11. I have a MOUNTAIN of written documentation and twelve witnesses who have all agreed to testify in my defense, including all of the employees, two attorneys and two CPAs. I have also submitted a 25-page defense answer, showing that I not only worked constantly to keep the business going, but that THEY kept trying to put the company out of business for whatever insane reason. I might post this answer letter publicly at some point, so everyone can see what really happened. My attorney says that I will absolutely win this, but I still have to pay a $10,000 retainer to file an answer to this ridiculous suit by April 16th.
I don’t happen to have that laying around, so…
If you guys could help me out and BUY SOMETHING. ANYTHING. Every little bit will help. Remember, if they somehow manage to win a judgement against me for two million, NOBODY is getting a HAL, as that would pretty much wipe me out.
It never ends…
Also, for those of you who may have missed our prior announcement: SD Studios officially acquired all of the assets of MRG and we will hopefully be pulling the HAL project back from the dead and get it back into production and delivered to the MRG customers. Step 1 was to acquire the MRG inventory. Step 2 is to get WB to sign-off on the approval (I have already sent the proposal) and Step 2.5 is to raise the remaining capital to fund the production. The inventory acquisition was a key part of this funding process. What MRG did was WRONG and I am doing everything in my power to fix that. There is NO GUARNTEE that this will be approved, but please stay tuned!
