Master Replicas Golden Gun Prop?

Hi. Long time reader, first time writer to the forums!! :)

I was wondering if anyone had any inside scoop on whats happening with the Bond License that MR announced way back when. I was really excited (and dying for) a Golden Gun prop, especially a signature edition.

So...what happened? Assuming (that I have) that MR have dropped the ball on this one, is there any good independant makers of the golden gun out there? or anyone made their own and have some pictures to post?

Cheers
Jon

I do hope MR/Corgi will be paying close attention to the things which made the originals special and which distinguish them from what has been done so far.

A great photo of an original and some interesting goings-on in the GG world here:

Nice ongoing coverage by our own jdebord. Funny how things go around--I first posted a scan of that golden gun photo here years ago, but it had managed to stay a hidden treasure until I brought it up again at a JB forum. ;)

I do hope that Master Replicas makes all of the Golden Gun parts
out of metal. Just because I can see them showing a full metal
version at the trade shows, (Which was done with another recent prop they sold, I don't remember which one :confused:confused)
Then selling metal with plastic versions to the collectors when it finally gets released.

There was at least one, or two private runs of the "Gun".

With MR's release date history, I think we will be lucky to be getting them in Dec. of 2009, if at all.

Apollo--there was the licensed SD Studios run, which apparently went through three phases design-wise. There are resin recasts floating around, and a non-recast resin version which apparently disassembles but is no more accurate than the SD ones, indeed arguably less accurate.

I find it weird that MR would offer Bond props, particularly three items that SD Studios did and basically set the benchmark on. Since S.D. started up with MR and it has basically sucked since he went his own way, and also Michael Cookson is such an ignorant - but rich - twerp... I wonder what is going on with the Bond props?

A Golden Gun that does not disassemble to it's component parts and they function is a wasted effort. Granted the lighter might not be do-able but a cavity that you could drop a Bic lighter into should be easily done. The pen, and cigarette case are simple.
