Master Cutlery FIRST BLOOD knife review

AUS 6 is an absolutely awful steel for a knife, especially of that length. A display only piece I'm afraid like most other UC knives and sword replicas. They are not meant for proper use and are not heat treated to do so. The reason the Buckmaster is a collectable knife is due to the fact it is designed as a real knife to be used and the connection it briefly had with the USN SEALs. It is also an 80's iconic piece along with the original Lile's and Wilkinson Sword Survival Knife.

Don't use it too much outside as it is not meant to be used like that and could prove dangerous due to parts failure or blade breakage.

It is good that you guys have access to someone skilled to make screen accurate sheaths as both the United Cutlery First Blood and First Blood Part 2 knives (I got mine back in 1990 or 1991) sheaths were not and it always bugged me. I also have a Gil Hibben Rambo III.

Overall I think they are well made, but probably not "useable".

This is not my photo, but is what I own.

You can get one from savage sheaths, just google it. Great workmanship, great value and great service. You can't go wrong. Nice collection. :)

Thanks. I found him and emailed him and got a fast reply, so hopefully I can get these new screen accurate sheaths soon.

Speaking of knives used in films, I know the BUCK 184 (Buck Master) has made it on screen several times, and I am sure I have seen the Gerber BMF on screen, but has the Geber LMF ever been used in a film? I happen to have one is why I ask.

Looking good there bud!

I have a couple of Harrys sheaths too, and they are definitely well worth the money, which accompany my early United Cutlery FB and Mission knives. Now youve gotta make some displays for them. :)

You're so right about the displays bro! I love what you did with yours.

Hello,

After many years of wanting and desiring, I Finally got me a high quality handmade First Blood knife. I already had the Savage sheath which was made for a UC FB knife I had. However, I plan to get a new non-Savage sheath made soon as I can find a sheath maker that can make what I want!

But now, my handmade FB knife is made with 440C steel for the blade and guard, and 416 knurled stainless steel for the handle and the pommel! And this knife is just unbelievably Gorgeous. What's even better is it's made by a guy named Schiller, and I believe his full name is Bill Schiller from Canada. If this is the same maker of my knife, as I bought it from a well-known FB knife maker (however, he didn't make this one).

From what I have read, Mr. Schiiler is loaded with years of knife making experience. But what is so good about this is that from what I have seen, this is the Only FB knife ever made by him. Not sure on that but cannot seem to find anymore made by him. That to me makes this FB knife extremely rare. In any event, rare or not, it is still one sharp, beautiful, flawless FB knife and I am very proud to Finally own one!

Hello,

Pics of my handmade First Blood knife and sheath are on the forum in here entitled First Blood Knife. Not sure why, but RPF wouldn't let me post the same pics in both places, or any pics of my new handmade FB knife for that matter! If you would like to see the pics of my FB knife pls go to Search option and type in First Blood knife. When the choices come up, just simply choose the thread entitled First Blood Knife! Thanks!
