So this is my first thread on here to keep track of my FemShep N7 armour [ME2] and to help motivate me. I was hoping to have it done by Free Comic Book day, but that's not happening. Our weather in Maryland is so temperamental, so I've been stuck working inside for the most part.
This build is for Baltimore Comic Con on Sept 5th-7th and it's my first dealing with EVA foam.
I built a Backburner from Team Fortress 2 for last year's con and that went over really well. It was pretty heavy, but it was definitely a fun build.
The patterns for this build were kindly provided by Narayas with some modification by yours truly.
Here's the front torso pieces for the most part
Had to recut the breastplate to add room for the rift since it would look better with it attached

Did basically the same thing BioWeapons did for the female breastplate
Split a styrofoam 5" dia. ball in half and glued each piece to a slice of cardboard [measured to what the width apart would be for the bra I was wearing-and will be for the con]
Marked off where I needed to cut on a piece of plywood [to sandwich the foam in between]

Here's the breastplate covered in clamps
Hit that sucker with a heatgun for a good long while, no photos of the result yet
Lots of trimming down to do over the collar actually

Narayas only has the femshep front torso pattern done, so I had to completely redesign the back torso pieces
Very frustrating, but finally got it done by tracing over the male back torso and modifying the base
Created another layer with my femshep back and scaled it for printing
I actually screwed up this particular piece with the dremel tool, so I have to go back and cut a new one out...

Back torso pieces thrown together for now
Having some problems assembling the case deck
Still have to buy the EL wire and the battery pack to make sure it fits inside the case deck [it should, but just in case]
Have to add the vertebrae to the collar pieces and detail the back
Still need to create an underback piece for the bottom too

Tell me what you guys think!
What can be improved upon?
What should I do differently?
Any tips or tricks for working with the heatgun and forming pieces?
I'm always out for new advice
