Mass Effect 2 Blood Dragon Build

Suit looks great so far! One question, what type of resin did you put on the helmet? The only fiberglass resin I can find is the really thick green automotive stuff.

I use Bondo brand all-purpose fiberglass resin, any odd color you may see in my work is due to food coloring added.

Update:
I did a little work on the boots today using some scrap pieces of foam.
The heel piece isn't attached yet and I will most likely revise some areas of it but I wanted to see what you all thought so far.

It's basically just a foam spat that fits around a cheap canvas shoe:

Of course the seams will be smoothed out prior to finishing so please ignore those for now.

This really does look amazing, the detail on the helmet is just great as well as everything else. Having played both Mass Effect games, the BD Armor is definitely the best looking set out of both games. Though I bet the Cerberus Armor would look better if they hadn't picked such a terrible color/texture scheme for it. Favorite part of the BD armor is the texture scheme, the brushed metal/carbon fiber combo with red accents just looks really clean to me. Also fits the futuristic feel very nicely. when this is completed it's going to rock (not that it doesn't already).

Finalized the design for the boot and got the heel piece attached.
The sides needed to be raised a small bit to fit properly over my foot.

The spat seems to rest fine on the shoe but I think I may add some Velcro to the toe and heel to hold it more firmly in place.
Sorry for no update on the helmet yet, it's been raining so I can't get much work done on it.

I finished the other boot tonight and comprised a short write up on the assembly.

I began with the lower rim.
It is a band of foam the height of the shoe's tread reinforced on the underside with a piece of re-purposed coat hanger embedded and held with hot glue to prevent it from losing its shape as the spat does not attach directly to the shoe.

Each section is created using 5 separate pieces aside from the toe which has 3 pieces and the heel which is 1 piece with a craft foam overlay(not pictured) to smooth out the surface.

The layer effect was created using the same lap joint method as the thigh and bicep pieces.

Small update:
I'm remaking the helmet cause this one is a a little on the small side(wish I would've noticed that prior to Rondo).
I may sell the smaller one to fund the project, the opening will fit a head up to 150mm ear to ear with some trimming.
PM for details if interested.

Sorry for the lack of updates this past week but I've been helping some family members move.
I rescaled the helmet to fit my head with room for padding which I had neglected to take into account on the first one.
I also added in detail on the respirator areas as well as smoothed this chin to cut down on Bondo time.

Helmet(notice recessed bands around respirators and smooth chin):

I will Resin and Rondo this piece within the next few days when I find the time.

when you made your rondo do you still add the hardening compounds to both resin and bondo before mixing it into a slurry?

Sorry I haven't posted any updates in a while.
I'm in the middle of moving and home repair on top of working on some other projects.
This project will be on hold for a while as I finish up some more pieces for my Jorge build.

Wow, amazing work bro!!!! Can you share the templates/pdo with us? This is one of my favorites armors ever! Thank you very much!!!
