Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

I like Ward.

But I think the story would be much better if he died.

Skye is a character that really seemed lost in the beginning of the series and overshadowed by "stronger" characters, like Ward. When the central tension seemed to be about their mutual attraction it really does a disservice to her development. I now believe the romance was a clever ruse. I think it's supposed to switch gears and have Skye emerge as an independent character who doesn't need romance to define her place in the story.

Already she's showing impressive initiative as a character. She also seems to be more bonded with Colson than ever before.

I like Ward.

They made it VERY clear that Ward shot the 2 civilian cops in the leg instead of killing them.... Crap... That leads me to believe they are going to explain his killing "Shield" agents....

I enjoyed Skye and Ward's back and forth during the "You're a Nazi!" exchange. I liked that she called him a serial killer too. I'm afraid Ward will be redeemed too. Especially with Fitz going on and on about it.

I think it would be a good thing for Fitz if Ward doesn't redeem himself back into the team.
If that happens then the show basically goes back to square one ... I have faith that the producers don't want that to happen.

Only two more episodes left in the season.

In season 2, I can see SHIELD being more of a covert organization like MIB, instead of a huge in your face monstrosity.

I hope they resolve the Coulson/T.A.H.I.T.I. plot this season and move on to something else next season.

YES!

The "are you really this stupid, or just willfully dense?" expression on her face was perfect during the back-and-forth!

And I agree with Dascoyne's stance. Not just for Fitz, but for the whole team. If Ward survives, he should be locked up in Ryker's Island (which would be another nice little nod to the comics universe). Otherwise, he's got to go. In any case, no sympathy or second chances or true acts of redemption. They've done wonderful work, especially with the last several consecutive episodes. I'd hate to see it fall about at the end and head back toward the direction of melodrama.

I hadn't even thought of that angle! BEAUTIFUL!

There's been talk of concern over the show's title, being that the current state of the organization would make calling it "Agents of SHIELD" ironic for a second season.

But if in "privatizing security" Stark somehow manages to keep SHIELD in the game, albeit covertly (which I believe in the comics, it was a secret operation initially: gonna have to fact check that later), it would make perfect sense to keep things going. And with Hill working at Stark Industries, she'd be in the perfect position to be the link between the two.

Good thinking, Rodneyfaile. I like where your mind's at. ;)

And that's exactly why Hill should be added to season 2 and include Stark industries into the mix. I think Hill being the liaison between Stark and S.H.I.E.L.D would be interesting, and get rid of Ward.

Saw this on Twitter yesterday after the episode (I think it was on Clark's account, actually).

Figured a little throw back to Fury's days as a Field Agent were in order. ;)

It could also be a play on the mindset they're still in. As far as they're concerned they are still SHIELD agents who have a job to do.

Ward should remain a villan, period. Any attempt at redemption for any reason whatsoever de emphasizes and weakens what the character and storyline
has been building up to. This includes being a bad guy and for some reason saving Skye or some other b.s.
That kind of thing happens far too often in plot developement and has become predictable. Keep the character as the one you love to hate.
Keep him a villan.
And May...glad she has another expression other the Michonne scowl. At one point, they both had that "I gotta crap bad" look.

Kinda like killing Coulson in The Avengers and then bringing him back to life? :lol

Lol, for those that remember Von Ryan's Express when Ol Blue Eyes was gunned down running for the train, maybe he went to Vegas instead of Tahiti :lol

Point is, I still watch that movie for the ending because it was so emphatic and shocking that the main character didn't make it, although I think if Dean and Sammy where there he would have made it lol
