I like Ward.
But I think the story would be much better if he died.
Skye is a character that really seemed lost in the beginning of the series and overshadowed by "stronger" characters, like Ward. When the central tension seemed to be about their mutual attraction it really does a disservice to her development. I now believe the romance was a clever ruse. I think it's supposed to switch gears and have Skye emerge as an independent character who doesn't need romance to define her place in the story.
Already she's showing impressive initiative as a character. She also seems to be more bonded with Colson than ever before.
