Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Doubtful, considering that the redhead at the end of Captain America (where he woke up and ran out into modern day NYC) was supposed to be Sharon Carter, Peggy Carter's granddaughter.

Yea, guess the math doesn't add up well for that one.

I think Shield had something to do with her parents though. Maybe she is Tony Starks sister, or perhaps she comes from some other planet/dimension.

Perhaps the universe where the dirtier you live, the more modelesque you appear... It would certainly explain a lot.

She wasn't supposed to be Sharon Carter... Sharon Carter will actually be in The Winter Soldier. The redhead at the end of TFA is just credited as "SHIELD agent".

Well originally she was supposed to be Sharon Carter, but I guess the retconned that when they recast the role with Emily Van Camp. Not much of an issue, especially since they never actually named her in the script.

Oh you mean how there's no way, even if you sold your soul and firstborn to Satan, that a C-17 is gonna he held aloft by six VTOL engines on the wings that have a single point of contact that happens to be a hinge, and that the wings would be sheared off due to the weight of the fuselage, causing the body of the plane to crash down like a fat man doing a belly flop in a three inch pool?

If they have the technology to build a suit that doesn't turn someone into chunky bits when they are hit in the chest by a russian tank shell, that has an internal power supply capable of flight and shoot some kind of 'repulsor' beam then I think they can retrofit or use existing C-17 design to build a plane like that capable of VTOL.

I guess you missed the part where a guy twirling a hammer allows him to fly. Jeeze you guys are a kill joy.

Well, I figured Stark-tech was involved, hence the uncharacteristically engine exhaust which was reminiscent to Tony's repulsor tech...

Now THAT sounds like a magical place!

What's up with Coulson making that call at the end? Definitely something unusual surrounding the Coulson mystery. And he mentioned a magical place again earlier.
From the way he hesitated when he said it was a magical place he knows they did something. And now they know he knows.

He probably has alien equipment or body parts in him.

I get the feeling that when these characters and plots unfold, this series will be well deserving of a rewatching.

That's kinda how I'm feeling, too. As I said before, I really believe that CA-TWS will make us re-evaluate some of the issues.

Don't get me wrong. The show isn't what I was hoping for, & it absolutely has things I'd rather see done differently, but I'm in for the long haul. I've stuck with worse shows for far longer than this.

After last weeks great improvement I was hoping for more and I did kind of get it in certain areas but not others.
I really welcome the way they are expanding the size of Shield now. Whether this is due to “The Winter Soldier” opening next year or not I don’t know, but there certainly is the sense now of a significant global reach developing, and just why Coulsons team has been separated from it. I also suspect that that division is integral to whatevers physically been done Coulson himself. Its clear that not everyone, even those high in the organisation know and that’s intriguing (“Furys Favorites” sounds like a bit of radio show though).
The character writing is also better now, less Skye again, more of everyone else, but I was disappointed that instead of giving us a break it was Fitzs turn almost immediately after Simmons last week ( I have to say shes coming on much better than I hoped ,kind of like Lena Headeys younger nerdy sister and she had some good lines again this week).
That said they did a good job of making Fitz likable as opposed to being irritating. Instead Ward is now very high on my first to die list.
Its taken a while but there is now the sense that this is all building towards something solid and more interesting, though I am kind of reminded of the Intiatives appearance in Buffy, but I think that’s a healthy move story arch wise. At least everything is moving on all fronts now.
And as for the hovering C17 I found that no more ridiculous than the vintage flying car or a million ton helicarrier floating in the air or just about every gadget, weapon device or super powered anything in the series and I actually kind of liked it for that. It makes it ,at the very least watchable, and I came damn close to not doing that any more a couple of episodes ago

I guess i missed out on this Winter Soldier reference by walking out early, but I'm standing my ground.

This could be a great show to re-watch down the road, but sadly, I think it'll be re-watched without an ending that gives closure because it'll have been cancelled before they could answer all the questions.

I thought Fitz was plenty annoying. I think would be cooler if he was more Jack Bauer and not so Calvin Klein. Simmons... they let people like her into a super-secret spy agency? She might have the brains but her personality is too nanny. Skye... hope she falls out of the back of the plane.

I hope they move forward with the Coulson back from dead thing and don't drag it out into a second season (if the show makes it that far).

I'm having a hard time understanding why the Skye character is so hated around here. Am I the only one who likes her? She's funny, pretty and smart imo...she's my favorite aside from Coulson.

I dislike her character not due to the actress (who I think is beautiful) or the portrayal (at least not as much as before), but because a hacker who lives in a van should not look like she sleeps on 800 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets at night and spends her days getting mani-pedis, fake tans, and teeth whitening while gossipping with her besties and buying Prada collars for her poofy toy dog.

I've never understood that line of thought. We're talking about a show based on a series of movies where a man has flying armored suits, a god from another planet/dimension controls lightning and a hammer, and a scientist turns into a huge green monster. If all that can happen, why can't a hacker look pretty?

Probably because even in a reality that Ironman, Thor, etc... existed, there would still be constants. Just because there are super heroes in the world, there would still be people who look like they belong on the "People of Walmart" page.
