Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

SHIELD even has proprietary plastic water bottles!
The copious branding must be a running gag with the prop dept.
Made me laugh.

Last night's episode did nothing for me. I'm growing weary of these young pretty people I care nothing about. I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to watch this one. Watching it is starting to feel like homework.

That's pretty much where I'm at with the show. I found myself thinking "why am I even bothering to watch this" on more than one occasion during last night's episode.

I think one of the things that turns me off is the way the show is shot/lit. It's too bright, too clear. Almost all ABC shows are like that.

This. I finished the episode last night pretty much thinking "I think I'm perfectly happy not to watch any more of this". I'll probably check back in next season to see if they find a good rhythm, but for now... It's up to you now, Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

I'm enjoying the show, but I can see where all the criticism is coming from. This show was so incredibly hyped, and the success of the MCU has put such a tremendous amount of pressure on the show, it is almost impossible to live up to. It was almost doomed to start out with. Because it is Marvel, it will succeed regardless. I do think people are being a bit harsh, though... You can't watch this show in the same frame of mind as you're watching the movies. It's TV, so everything will be on a smaller scale. Just give it some time to develop.

Trust in PapaJoss. Let me stroke your hair to calm you all. Here, I made you some kool-aid. Drink it and you will see that PapaJoss can do no wrong. :)

He doesn't even have anything to do with the show now? I know he was involved with the first episode, but I thought that was the extent of it........

He directed only the pilot, but he's still producing and writing for it. Plus the other producers are his brother and brother's wife who have worked with him extensively before, so I'm sure he's influenced them in his vision and all that.

Thanks for the Kool-aid. But after last nights episode don't think its needed, was happy with a kind of Coulson centric story.
One of those every now and them should be good.

Thought it was funny that the SHIELD Lexus had its door makings removed but all the light bars for the drive to the research center.
Wonder if they are going to have the markings somehow fiber optic?

My only beef with this weeks episode is the complete waste of some creepy cool bad guys in red masks! That was very doctor who, and very cool, and went totally nowhere. There is so much they could have done with that concept. I'm still enjoying the show. I liked the cyberpunk aspect to the eye systems, though the eye "going off" reminded me directly of Mission Impossible 3. But it was still a cool twist.

The establishing of the team as a team is obviously not something they are in a hurry to do. If that means we get more Coulson, and less kids making jokes while in danger, I'm good with that.

I like that they are building up for the future with things like a potential super villain locked in a vault and now a mysterious person controlling people with eye implants.

"You're a robot. Can you do that?"

Loving the show.

This weeks episode was a slight improvement. The characters seemed to be a bit more toned down and their defining characteristic not quite so in your face and jarring. There was even a tiny hint of a rhythm developing. Still only moderately entertaining but not a complete waste in my opinion.

I love that people were thinking the red mask guys were some sort of flash mob or something, just kinda ignoring it and filming it, but otherwise paying them no real attention.

Though honestly, if you are transporting that much in diamonds, do you really REALLY want to draw that much attention to yourself? That was probably my biggest peeve about an episode that also featured them letting Sky sit in the SUV all by herself with a laptop doing who knows what and exploding eyeball implants.

Also, I'm wondering if she used her special backscatter sight thing on Coulson or something to find out there's something different about him.

I kinda love the name Punchy McCrappyActor. <3

But I didn't mean Sky, I meant the girl who had the eye implant. As she was leaving she said he was different, and just by how the conversation went, it made me wonder if she used that special vision to scan him or something.

I've been watching it. While I don't think it's extraordinarily great, it's not bad. I mean what did we really expect, an Avengers class show every week? I am enjoying it so far but I wouldn't die without it.

I think we can all agree the major geek point of the show is to find out about Coulson. The girl with the x-ray eyes obviously saw something different when she looked at/through him.
