Mannequin Question

Has anyone ever modified a static mannequin so the shoulders are movable? I am trying to get clone armor on my mannequin and have run into an issue. The chest armor interferes with the bicep armor so I need to figure out a way to make the shoulder joint move to give me clearance. Any ideas?

I take it there's no way to modify the armor temporarily so that it fits?
If you can post a pic. I've had to become very creative to make some of my lifsize pieces work with their costumes.

id suggest cut the arms off, push a bar through the torso (where the shoulders were) and then re-attach the arms. you could then perhaps midify the arms too.

its doable if you have the skill and time

Thanks for the ideas. I think the idea about putting a pvc pipe through from shouder to shoulder might work well. That way I can determine how far out the arms will be. I will shoot some pictures tonight when I get home.

I have been looking into this too. My Stormtrooper cannot hold his blaster because his shoulder won't flare out. They move back and forth, but the forearms hit the chest armor. I thought about bending the bracket where the arm attaches at the shoulder and fill the rest in with duct tape. I need to work out manipulating the hands first before I get to that part though.
