Mangalore Rifle: New pics and progress

Re: Mangalore Rifle: Slowly But Surely

Matt,

I just read your entire blog on this build. It was a fun read.

Looking forward to seeing this gun finished.

And it is a beautiful day here in southern California. It's tough not working in the garage. I'm trying to get rid of this darn chest cold.

Re: Mangalore Rifle: Slowly But Surely

True indeed. I actually just went for a walk! There's people sitting by the pool and everything!

Thanks for the kind words on the blog. I do try to keep them interesting :)

Re: Mangalore Rifle: Slowly But Surely

Oooh, nice update. The rifle is coming together. The blog was a good read. :thumbsup

Re: Mangalore Rifle: Slowly But Surely

I was wondering how this was going, lookin' good Matt, cant wait to see it finished!!!

Re: Mangalore Rifle: Slowly But Surely

Matt- Get the spring benders. You can get the right bend but it takes alot of patience. To get the three required pieces I went through about 15 feet of copper.

Re: Mangalore Rifle: Slowly But Surely

Well, getting LOADS closer. It's really coming together now, and is almost done. here's the latest picture:

All the details are of course on the blog at http://mattmunson1.blogspot.com/2008/04/unmasked.html

Its really coming together, and I'm happy to say that it's almost finished. Can't wait to get this thing all wrapped up!

VERY nice matt!

are you planning weathering it or leaving it pristine?

z

I'll probably weather it. But just lightly. I'm really no good at weathering, but i figure it will help to hide some of the flaws of the piece. Besides, it doesn't look very Mangalore-esqe in a pristine condition!

That's fantastic work there. I agree with the weathering though, maybe make it a bit dusty like they look during the battle over Fhloston?
