Man, that DARK KNIGHT suit looks cool (Merged)

I don't mind this look, and I was 'ok' with the begins suit mainly because it all fit in the context of the story. Frankly this is what I always imagined would be under the grey spandex - if you've read the Dark Knight, there's a few pics of Bats with the suit torn and bit's of the under armour showing. That where this should be heading.

From what I recall, the armored part of Batman's outfit was the yellow Bat-emblem - the reason being that the yellow area is the target that he wants folks to aim for, hence it is the armored part of the costume. They've never shown or hinted at other parts of the uniform as having any significant armor,

Batman is supposed to be very agile, and very gymnast/trapeze like in his movements. They seem to be weighing him down, when I think they should be lightening him up.

I don't like it cowl is better though (n)unsure Joker looks like crap too:angry just once make is face and actions like the comic :angry

Ha! You're right. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to have much time in the next 18 years, anyway.

Mimi was talking about how un-Batman it looked, and I reminded her this is what I put on to go down the street to get groceries...

...so it doesn't seem that unlikely that you'd want at least as much armor on when you're fighting crime. :)

Which one is the batman costume?

While I really liked Batman begins. I was not fond of the earlier films. I Have always thought of batman as a well trained ninja/gymnist who is clinicly insane. NO armour, NO guns, NO b*llsh*t.

well, technically he's been wearin' body armor since Batman #1... of course with the non-linear, Earth #blah blah blah mess that DC has become anything is possible.

However anyone's getting it in their heads that this a step towards the Burton/Schumacher suits, I want some of whatever you're on, because there's absolutely no way they're even close. Those suits were based around exaggerated human musculature in one-piece, aesthetically pleasing wrap-arounds. The Begins/DK suits are designed with functionality in mind, an almost clockwork precision combo of various bits and pieces of armor and joints, with visible joinings and separations.

Functional gauntlets/utility belt/cape/cowl/boots/gloves/Batmobile is a far cry from the previous films.

The same people who argue over minute differences between various versions of Darth Vader (all virtually identical to 95% of the public, even side by side) can't separate the design philosophies between Batman suits (that 95% of the general public could tell you about, side by side) from then till now?

C'mon guys, knock off the bitter chit chat, even the relatively busy Begins suit disappeared into the darkness during the actual film. Could you imagine how terrible the Yoda puppet would look if Dagobah were a brightly lit, sunny planet? Lighting fixes quite a lot of "issues". :)
