Forgive me reposting this picture for what must be the 100th time, but...

This is flippin' Gene Hunt!

Uhhhh........ok?

I'm not sure why some of you are having a hard time with Costner's dialog in the teaser with Pa Kent. Maybe you aren't fathers?

I am not a father, but I thought the Jor El speech was epic and very emotionally charged. It was inspiring and uplifting.

Perhaps my issue with the Costner version was that I was expecting the Jor El... but beyond that, the Costner version just fell flat in comparison. It isn't that I have a problem with it, only that it was no where near as powerful in my opinion.

yes, it will be rebooted due to the fact, that snyder doesnt want his version of superman to be in the justice league. or at least thats what the DC executives say. what happens in the end, remains to be seen

Aww, I was looking forward to Man of Steel being the first lead in to a Justice League movie.

Not sure about Costner's lines, but Jor-El's lines are actually lifted directly from All-Star Superman!
I've read those dialogue balloons so many times in the past, but they've never had such power and feeling as when I heard Russel Crowe say them. I predict this movie will be something special

Thanks for finding another place to see the vid. I really liked it, looking forward to this, at least from this trailer.

I think a reboot is completely necessary. Especially between that and a sequel. Superman Returns was terrible.

What an utterly insurmountable task.

Comic hero movies are all the rage. Big bucks. A Superman movie just HAS to be made. How could you not? How could you let this time pass by and not put out a Superman movie?

But who is going to make it? Who would even think of trying to follow the genius of Richard Donner? Superman deserves a current entry into the comic hero move craze, but wow, what a hard act to follow!

And the score?! Who in their right mind would ever try to follow up what is arguably John Williams best work?!

This movie just has to be made. My hats off to the people with the balls to step up to the plate and take a swing. I hope they knock a home run! They have already sold me a ticket!

I'll never respect a movie that is made purely because the studio is about to lose the rights.

I'm sure the studio want to capitalize on the current comic movie success craze, but I don't think it's all about rushing to make a movie. I'm sure they still want to make a quality product. If we refused to watch movies that were made because someone was trying to make a lot of money, then we would not have very many movies to watch.

Regardless of the motives of some. I still applaud tackling suck a huge undertaking when everything is stacked against them. Most probably ran from this project.

Good job Zach Snyder and Hans Zimmer! Way to step up!

Aww, I was looking forward to Man of Steel being the first lead in to a Justice League movie.

I was at this panel and someone asked Mr. Snyder about this. He intimated that the first step was to get Superman's house in order and after that who knows? So if Man of Steel does well, they will move forward with a connected universe. Rumors are also appearing on some sites about a cameo in Man of Steel for another hero.

I actually like that poster. The texture of the suit really looks like chain mail. Odd, but intriguing.
This, along with the altered, "no briefs" design is to put the new movie series in line with DC's "New 52" continuity, in which Superman's costume is literally Kryptonian battle armor to give him extra protection. It might even be the source of his legendary resistance to damage (I'm not sure on that one because I haven't read any of the "New 52" comics yet.)

Still, it could be worse...

That's the video game version of Superman's "New 52" Kryptonian battle armor costume, as seen in the upcoming game Injustice: Gods Among Us. :sick

The battle armor is a joke. Supes has it's power from the sun, why would he need extra protoecting, if he's impervious to pain? Duh, some people don't check their facts on supes…

That part makes plenty of sense for the film. It's his father's kryptonian battle armor, or at least a layer of it. They don't have their powers on their home planet. Wearing it here on earth is both symbolic and practical, even if he is invulnerable. In the comic con footage you'll see how easily earth clothes burn when worn during super activities!
