Making of the first Godzilla suit video.

Here ya go ...this was made by a guy that I was in Wondercon's masquerade ball with. He made it from foam he found on the side of the road ....then painted it with latex house paints

...impressive

Now why can't I just find foam on the side of the road! I'm about to place an order for foam because I can't seem to find what I'm looking for, except HD green foam, around here. :lol

I wonder if he made the mask or used the same one I picked up for my son's costume?

If anyone is interested, here is my out of date Godzilla costume building blog, I just need to order some raw materials and get started on this since I need to have this costume done in time for Wizard World Philadelphia in the Spring.

Well, I don't think I need to confess my love for Japanese monsters any more than I already have countless times over the years on this board.

Tsuburaya is a hero of mine, I have all the books (including two that I paid wayyyyy too much for) and I've visited the studio a few times while I was in Tokyo. This video was a great post - can't believe I hadn't seen it until now.

Pretty scary video especially in the one scene on set. Similarities to battleship row? Pearl Harbor???? World War II?

Ironically, the imperial Japanese originally planned to use godzilla to destroy pearl harbor, but were unable to convince him because 'americans are too filling and high calorie'.
