Making a 1:1 old style Lightcycle for movie display

Ok,
I've been working on this really fast, collecting reference and just finishing the drawings for the patterns, as I only have a month and a half to make it. So, is there anybody out there has an idea how long these cycles are? They look fairly small, around 5-6 foot. Are there any experts here? This is going to be my Holloween costume this year for the Disney party /contest...any help appreciated here... My thoughts are way out there on this one, but I'm reeling on the idea of how this will look. I was thinking of making the full lightcycle from hard coated foam and plexy for the windscreen. As I want to be inside it and not show my legs and feet. I was thinking about making a light grid base to hide the rest of me once inside. I even want the light it up with a light trail and all, some EL wire for the grid and things of that nature. I guess I'm nuts , but sure sounds fun...Of course it will be the Yellow one.:love
Cheers,
Will

Ok , so this isn't considered studio scale then? true the originals were cgi, maybe that's why... ok, Well can anybody give me an idea of how long these cycles might be???... I see you are in a crouched position with arms out.

You doing new or old?

An how are you going to "wear" it?

I'm mostly just curious, but in truth, hoping I can help:confused

Hi there,
The old style is the one I want to make... Gonna wear it will have shoulders down lower in the wide area. The cycle itself will be on a base with a lighted game grid to hide our torsos and all.. Gotta make quick work of a mold for a exercize ball 75cm to get my front wheel, then the cutting begins...
Cheers,

Ya gotta admire people who just go for it. I wish I had this guy around me, his enthusiasm is infectious.

Thanks for the screen grabs there.... so it looks to be around 6-7 foot or so...Here's kinda my concept for the costume...The lightcycle will have the bottom enclosed to hide us, but I want the base removeable :love

Oh awesome! I think I'd be too tempted to build this around a real motorcycle XD Just do it up with glowing parts and tool around town in it XD

Re: Making a 1:1 old style Lightcycle for Holloween

you might say exercise ball, but not me, I say...Lightcycle Front wheel pattern. :lol

Re: Making a 1:1 old style Lightcycle for Holloween

ok,
CAD drawing is finished, I even tried something totally new for me, shading in corel draw. Here's the image, it turned out real well I think... See anything wrong with this cycle?..I think it's fine, but who knows, maybe there's an expert out there who knows better than me.
Cheers,
Will
