Limited Run 'Major's Thermoptic Pistol' (2017) Ghost in the Shell

Just wanted to provide a much needed update. I didn’t want to just post a wall of text, in this instance I thought it would be best to make a video, seems the best way to get across a proper conversation, for reasons that will become clear. Please watch the video, more update post following soon regarding 2nd run/Payment etc.. Thank you All.

I can save you a small bit of anxiety Jay. just don't clear coat mine. looks awesome just the way It Is. and Its to be encased In a box on the wall anyway. hope things get better......

Jay,

Thanks for sharing. Once these first run orders are fulfilled, it sounds like you need to take a personal break. Mental health is critical!
It doesn’t seem like a good idea to just move forward with future runs until you are in better shape.

I think that would be healthier for you, and more responsible to the community.

Thanks for the update. It's important to take care of yourself mentally.

Like I said before, I saw a real one on display at SDCC last year and your replica looks spot-on and better in many ways. I look forward to receiving mine! I've already set up a display area for it.

Sent an urgent pm Jay. Just wanted an OK that it was received. My address will no longer be valid after tomorrow. I have to figure out another address to ship to. Ground being Ripped from underneath my feet and just ask for a small reply of understood when time allows

I hear you Jay! You're a brave man for sharing. You're doing great. Thanks for the update.

Thank you, That means a lot. I’ve spent so long making and fixing things, I’ve avoided fixing myself. I’ll endeavour to get better, both mentally and with updates. Haha.

Firstly, thank you for your message. As regards to cutting back on the future runs, I’ll be taking a quick break once this run has concluded just to get a few things in order, just a week or 2 and then I’ll start again. Doing the work is not the issue, it actually helps my mind focus, the main issues have come from using a lot of new tools, and materials that until now I’ve had to learn to use as each stage progressed to make sure I was getting the best results possible. It just came to a head with doing the clear coat sections because I’ve never used a 2K clear before, was unsure of when it would do, if it would ruin the surface or not harden properly, plus countless other things so it just stressed me out (on top of a few personal issues) to the point I shut down.

That being said, once I’m on the other side of it, I would tested every outcome, noted my plan of action for each stage and no longer have the worry of repeating this down the line.

Doing the work is my stress relief, when it goes my way, when I hit stumbling blocks like this that I have to overcome, I just have to push on through. Yes it’s stressful, and sometimes like now I get to a point where I need to sort myself out, but the work is rewarding, the problem solving becomes a joy and then I move onto the next quest.

I hope that makes sense, I think I got into a rambling mode again.

Take care.

Jay.

Hi Jay,

This looks very good.

Can you add me to your second run please?

Or if someone drops out of the current first run I would be interested as well.

Thanks.

Jay, how are you doing? Hope things are looking up and all is well.

Just figured I’d see if there was an update (I’m in the second run but want to help keep this thread alive and kicking).

Best of luck with everything. The work looks beautiful and I know it’ll be worth it for everyone.

Michael

I'm going to be posting a full update this weekend to fill in the gaps for the build processes for getting to this point, but i'm too excited to not share this right now. The clear coating process has finalized and i'm beyond happy to report that it has been a complete success... After all that worry and anxiety, you have no idea how elated i am right now. Thank you to everyone for all of your continued patience and for understanding what I've gone through to get to this point. you are all amazing and inspirational people and I can't wait to bring you all some more good news very soon.

Love to you all.

Jay.
