some updates. .

i have been figuring out the best thigh file for me to "modify" for the mark 47 (gonna rename the thread for this). . .and i found this

extremis armor leg part. .i think those files where from Eyeofsauron (correct me if i'm wrong) so i'll be using this leg/thigh part for the legs of my mark 47

Simply amazing. Are you using another pep file set as a base, or have you done so many that it's all free-hand? Just wondering, I really like the MKVIII and am looking into doing one of my own soon...again, well done ^__^

thanks for appreciating my work :)

about your question. .yes i'm using pep based patterns for some of the parts to keep their proportions right. .i modified them right away after printing them out.

the chest is originally a mark 3 chest. .same as the back. .the ab and cod plates are freehand. .the shoulders are freehand. . the arms *biceps and forarms* are both different files. . .mark 7 biceps which also i modified after printing. .and the mark 3 forearm..same procedure print then modify. .

the rest of the suit will be done in that process too. .so i bet this build isn't really 100% freehand build. . .:popcorn

Not that it matters at all, I mean even in it's stage right now the work is just awesome.

I am going to keep an eye on this thread for sure, keep up the good work! ^__^

What type of paints did you use for the red and gold which are available locally?

thread update

sup therpf.com mates!
here's a little update of my mark 47 suit build

i just finished the thighs and shins of the suit. . .it took me 4 failed attempts in order to get the finished product.
the shins are designed to fit robo's mark4-6 boot. . .so i just need to print the boot templates then add some details prior to the ones on the mark 47.
i didn't build the knees yet, i'm planning something on that part for me to do the bad-ass ironman pose. . .

i prepainted the ab and cod plates with the remaining silver paint i had to see the details a little bit better.

this suit isn't that 99.9% accurate but it works for me very well and i think the paint will make this suit a little accurate.

gonna start making/building the helmet now out of cardboard and fiberglass it. . .then i'll start working on the shoes.

Really cool and looking good!!!

Where did you buy the paint and what colors did you use?

Are you planning to use filler to improve the shape and texture?

:thumbsup
