Hi all, the sun came out Friday and I could wait no longer. Out came the dummy, skin and the new compressor... 6 cans of Hobgoblin later this Is what I came up with. Please let me know what you think, as a first paint up I have lots to learn still!

P.s. I must say FW inks are awesome! I just hope they stay coulor fast. any suggestions on how to keep them durable? would permawet work on a lycra suit?

Hi, again thx for the kind words, Again it was a learning curve and Im so pleased you like it, I did a few things wrong not least by dressing the dummy in the suit backwards to start with
I also had too much pressure in the gun so It created a Halo effect on some of the early dots... But I guess thats ok as it kinda looked more random that way.
The suit is one I obtained from Ebay china I think its called a zentai it was a neutral coulor so as to take the FW inks and yeah its all Lycra, the dummy is freaking huge hes about 6'3" so has stretched the suit out nicely, hopefully when I put it on as it will be smaller the coulors will be richer.
Lastly... No I didnt make it to sell, I just thought this would make the most cost efficient skin and had no Idea it would turn out so well. If after some use it still looks good, I might paint a couple up and pop them on here to gauge if theres any interest

Looks great! You did a wonderful job..and you are learning you say!? I’ve seen those zentai suits and wasn’t so sure about using them, being that they are mostly spandex. I was leaning towards cotton/lycra..but seeing that you have worked awesomeness with this I may get one of these….So be prepared buddy, cuz I’m gonna’ be hittn you up for tips on this! Keep up the great work!

That looks great. I was thinking of doing the Mr. I suit and have even bought the suit already but this seems much easier. Makes me think. It looks really great. Nice work.

Glad you all Like it! I have some black dye to finish off the hands feet and cowl and I'll add a coat or 2 of permawet after thats dried out, I want to see how durable this is as a real alternative to a latex skin.
Ill pop on some updated pics and some info when it's done. Lee

I don't suppose you contacted the company for their recommendations. That really is a bitchin' skin. The thing I really like about it, is that it's skin-tight and not all baggy...

Didn't even think of that, mind you I dont fancy calling china, I'll try sending an Email. I have some Permawet now so all I need now is a nice warmish day with no rain and ill get a couple of coats on it. Watch this space...

Hey Lee,
You could try this site, Action Dancewear.com. Under unitards go to long sleeve crew neck. I bought one a few years back. It was made from a leather like material, it worked pretty well. With your painting skills it could be excellent.

Hi all. Well the warmer weather is upon us again and out comes the Airbrush, I have applied a coat of Permawet to the suit and it seems to have taken very well, the colours are a little more vivid and the suit seems to be quite durable, much better than I first thought was possible!
