Done / Completed Luke's TLJ «CreepyUncle» hilt - SOLD OUT

Re: Luke Skywalker's TLJ «CreepyUncle» Lightsaber Pre-order

The sizes that I took from the new photos almost coincide with what I did before.
I'll change the box a little (add screws), add a hole in the blade cap and change the dimensions a bit. Tomorrow I'll give the drawings to the manufacturer.

Which extra hole in the blade cap?

you think you will be able to get that dark metal look on the hilt?

Re: Luke Skywalker's TLJ «CreepyUncle» Lightsaber Pre-order

I know it probably isn’t, but it almost looks like steel to me.

Re: Luke Skywalker's TLJ «CreepyUncle» Lightsaber Pre-order

It looks the natural metal under with a light coat of maybe silver paint. It has the wearing of an object showing that look from handling and rubbing off the paint. Or just the metal wearing natually with time. That's what I think it looks like.

The metal version I'm talking about, not the resin one.

It appears to be a resin casting, possibly white resin https://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=284957&page=32

I just noticed that the control box on your drawings is a fraction long now compared to the photos of the resin control box. Is this what you meant by changing dimensions?

This cast saber it the on time I've seen the extra hole in the blade cap. I have not noticed it in either the screen used or the behind the scenes sabers.

The saber is definitely98a3776ab88fca3f5f16c511e92b4626 (3).jpg a cast version. you can see the flashing lines from the mold halves on the windvane and grenade sections.

This is the saber that we are calling the "White Glove". But whether or not it was used in the movie we don't know. The movie saber has been extensively CG'd. There is a possibility that the prop makers employed some readily available saber parts. halliwax has come up with a great theory https://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=284957&page=32

I have a feeling the cast was improperly made hence the box?

yeah I've been following that thread.

My point was that I'm not so sure adding the extra hole in the emitter is going to make the end product more screen accurate. If anything, it would take away from the saber.

I agree with you. I don't think there would be a need for this hole on the hero as it is a belt hanger with a closed emitter end

That hole is probably there to allude to RotJ Hero, which has a hole in the emitter nipple. Of course, it's originally there for blade retention, but it's become apart of the design now.

So do you think that the metal hero would/should have this hole?
