Lucasfilm backs away from lightsaber laser lawsuit

I suspect it was actually a pre-emptive PR move. They certainly knew they'd have trouble suing due to likeness because the company making the lasers has a catalog that goes back several years and you can see how the shape and designs started and has become what it is today.

The big guy probably wanted to get it out there that they weren't happy about the product and have nothing to do with it so when some idiots eventually start blinding each other they can deny any wrongdoing because this has nothing to do with $tar War$.

lawsuit nonsense aside, the device is clearly lightsaber inspired and as far as I can tell serves no purpose beyond potential for @#$%ing yourself up with it.

I saw that earlier, I was considering sending MattMunson a PM to let him know they caught that guy again. I saw a few other posts he participated in. I dunno if there is anything to be gained, but "supmynerfherder" conducted a financial transaction with a board member so his current address may be available if that's something that the mods were interested in keeping up with.

Lets say you or I were "hypothetically" "accused" of being a child molester...

Sure you would want to state your case that you didn't do it...

But after a couple of times of trying... then KNOWING that a whole community thought you did no matter what you say... Why would you keep popping up trying to make trouble and point out the faults in others and/or the staff...

The guy (no pun intended) is seriously F'd up in the head. For sure. I wish we could get a damn forum restraining order or something on him. I feel sick just knowing I talked to him on the board recently. :sick

He can't help but show his colors... that he knows more than a common newbie. He knows the members and the politics. He knows old makers long gone.

He holds up for a bit and plays it careful, but then it's like he can't help but give little clues that he knows more than you think.

That is what we need to watch for. But like I said, I "knew" but I didn't know. :unsure
 
Didnt Rob sniff him out a few weeks ago? Isnt there a way to get his IP address and cross reference it with the member list? Im no computer witchdoctor but it seem plausible to me.

I guess I need to frequent the Banned threadfest more.

No kidding. Unfortunately this is probably impossible or the Mods would have done it by now (or at least something to the same effect of permanently keeping him away).

I'd say it's a safe bet he's already working on that. When did ReaverReject get banned and when did Supmynerfherder join?

This has obviously become a game of cat and mouse with him. Join, stir things up, hide your true identity as long as possible, then get banned. The fun has probably now become how long he can hold out before getting discovered.

Yeah, he really has nothing to lose at this point so why not? I joined this forum after everything that happened with him, but during my time here I've seen him return and get banned, oh, about five times I'd say.
