Lord Marshall helmet 1st cast, see 1st post

Well, it's taken me forever, but I finally cast the first copy the other day and I think it came out pretty well.

I've gotten some interests in selling casts, and here's how I've decided to do it:

They will be posted for sale in the junkyard one at a time within the same sale thread. I will only offer a helmet for sale if i have it in hand to sell.

I'd just like to eliminate some of the anxiety that goes on between seller and buyer and this is the best way I can think of to do it.

Thanks again for everyones' support on this project.

Michael

The sculpt is finally finished, and what a relief it is to finally have it done. The next hurdle of course will be molding and casting which I won't be able to do until spring. The face plate is removable and will be held in place with magnets. I should also mention that the pics of the original prop helmet were taken from the Propstore of London and I'll be happy to remove them if it bothers anyone affiliated with them.

I recognize that some of the details are off a bit, but it 's close enough for my tastes. Thanks for looking...

The last thread got a little off track, so I hope it's kosher with the mods to start a new one...

Anyway, I'm taking a break from other projects to dust this one off. The sculpt is still very rough, but I'm begining to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The finished helmet will be gelcoated fiberglass and have a removable face plate. This bucket is huge.

Thanks for looking!

Always a pleasure seeing your work, Weez. Looking forward to more progress on it. :)

That is going to be a nice looking helmet when it is done. Thanks for sharing the progress pic.

Sweet Helm, but I bow to no man. :D

He's not a man. He's a holy half-dead who's seen the Underverse. :lol

OT: Awesome work. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished piece. :thumbsup

Thanks for the compliments everyone.

It's funny, but if I didn't belong to forums like this one, the stuff I do would be only be seen by a handful of people (most of whom have no interest in props), so your comments mean a lot.

I hope to have the sculpt done in the next week or so. I am not looking forward to molding or casting this thing, but the finished cast should be cool.

damn... that looks heavy.

very nice sculpt though. ive been wanting to see this piece replicated since i saw the movie. the guy who played him bugged me in the film, but i guess thats a good thing considering he was a villain :lol

very nice.

Thanks again guys...I have to admit that I have a real love/hate relationship with this project.

I can work on it for a few days and kick ass on it and then I don't want to touch it for a few weeks.

Part of the problem is that all the fun stuff is done and now all that's left is tweaking the ridges to make them perfect (which is no fun) and doing the texture.
