Looking for I robot Rifle

I need pics of the rifle or even the concept art. I know the bas gun was a Thompson but I need good detail shots

I have only seen the thing for about 30 seconds when I saw it on cable this weekend. I too would like to know more about this turkey myself.

It's not a Thompson, but a "spectre" M4 submachine gun from Italy. They used to make airsoft versions of them, but you gotta get one with the stock, which is folded onto the top of the receiver as seen in the film.

All I have; sorry.

I swore it was a thompson because of the selector but I know you you know your movie guns Shawn. but here is another question the spectre sub machine gun is stamped. The gun in the movie has a carrot grip like that on a PSG1 sniper rifle. YOu can't put on a new grip with the spectre. I am cunfused

Maybe if you had pictures of the specific one you're trying to track down, as there were several different rifles in I, Robot.

I may be wrong but that reminds me straight away of a spas cage modded and extended and a spas grip. The rest i am not too sure about

One on the left is the 'shotgun' not the 'SMG' and is based on a SPAS12 I think - u can see the SPAS pump and part of the original heatshield just behind it, the slotted metal part along the top is an add on I think mimicking the SPAS' heatshield design.

SAS

Yeah. the shotguns were Spas 12s. In fact, the rubber stunts were cast off of Tokyo Marui Airsoft guns! This makes me wonder if the hero guns were modified airsofts to "shoot" a muzzle flash. I've noticed that more and more productions are using airsoft weapons instead of real steel guns to cut down on costs and have wondered if they've been modded or just have the muzzle flashes added in post production.

IMFDB only lists the Spas and the FN P90 as being used in the movie. There really aren't any pictures out there. I'll have to double check the movie one of these days to see if I can get a better view of it...

Morganthirteen is correct. I had a conversation with the weapons coordniator and military advisor on the film and it was not a Thompson (I initially had the same thoughts as you). Just to make sure you talking about the weapon Will Smith uses later in the film to fight off the Robots? It was a Russian made weapon but I would have to check with him again.

It is the gun he uses near the end of the film. That little sub machinegun

It's a Spectre, of that I'm sure. The giveaway is in the closeup shots where you can clearly make out the folding stock hardware.

The entire piece has been both widened and lenghtened with add-on pieces, which makes it a tad more difficult to ID, but that's what it is.

And despite Alex Proyas' own tragic on-set experience with firearms, there was at least one live-fire version as brass can be seen ejecting in several shots...
