Lois and Clark Superman Ship

Hi everybody! I'm new to the forum and starting off my time here with a very odd request. Does anyone have any pictures, screencaps, information, w.e on the Kal-El spaceship from Lois and Clark :TNAS. Theres lots of info out there concerning the Smallville version of Superman's ship, but I'm looking to make a replica of the Lois&Clark version. Any leads?

Apparently they don't show the back in the first season... I think season 2 shows some extreme close-ups of most of the ship, but I can't track down that set. I'll update if I do.

wow, crazy helpful already! Thank you!
Yeah, I remember one season two episode at least with the ship (the H.G. Wells episode) but I only have the later seasons on dvd right now and by then the ship had changed slightly. keep me posted. thanks again!

Yup, Tempus Fugitive had the ship, but the two "bubbles" on the side of the pod were attached to the swinging arm. Other than that, (and the interior where Clark was) it appears to be the same.

Not quite DVD quality, but I do have these:

There were actually two versions of the ship - the second wasn't used until the episode "Big Girls Don't Fly" where Malorie (from Family Ties) shows up as Kal-El's wife from Krypton. The second ship is much smaller and has cut sections for Clark and his Wife to place their hands to receive a message from Jor-el.

The first one - I was lucky enough to run into on a "visit" to the set one late night - it was in a crate with "Lifeboat" written on the side on the stage right next to Clark's apartment set. I had a cheap camera with me and managed to click off some shots that I pieced together.

the thing was HUGE and I had to hold the crate lid open while snapping the pics - I was by myself and was pretty nervous someone would walk in any minute and bust me for being there.

Here are more screencaps - sorry if I repeat but I'm uploading the whole folder.

I know I have more on my main comp at home - let me know how you do with the replica - I've always wanted one as well! as you might be able to tell

Wow, those pics from the set are awesome, and everyone's screencaps are very helpful thank you! Such a cool prop, I wonder what happened to the original. Either way, its time to start working I think.
Still trying to decide the best way to start, but thats the fun!

You might be able to take a huge piece of foam and carve it out and then cover it with fiberglass/resin and then use some solvent to dissolve the foam.

The original was stolen from the lot. Someone obviously with a truck and another person to help - two things I was missing

yeah contec that was my thinking too but time will tell how good i am with resign. I'll keep you all posted as we go along.
also, Jet beetle, I'll bring the truck if you ever track it down, haha.

Trust me it's still very much alive I'm just having trouble finding the styrofoam block size I need for cheap. I've been shopping around for a while and have considered scaling it down but would love a full size one! Don't worry, when I finally get it I plan on posting alot on the progress.

Started the carving today. I wound up cutting up a few foam boards and glueing them together. Its pretty dense material, and looks really rough right now, but its still exciting!

Yep - i remember when they showed the episode I was so jazzed it was him doing it. Jack the Ripper as Jor El - C'mon!

So, reviving this thread after far too long a time...with a story.
This project was started this summer as an expirement for my dad and I while I was home from college for the summer. It had to be done on the cheap, so foam boards were purchased, cut, and glued together as a starting point. Then we started hacking away at it. We didn't get far before it was time to go back to school, so the ship retreated to our Fortress of Solitude until I could return.
Over a recent break, we got back to it and got as far as carving on the "S" and the kryptonian writing. And really soon (by which I mean a couple months from now), we'll fiberglass and finish it off. Here's our labor so far. Enjoy!

Resurrecting this thread to post the new article I wrote for the Lois & Clark'd: The New Podcasts of Superman website. This week's podcast episode will cover "Foundling," an episode that flashes back to the final days of Krypton, so naturally all I wanted to talk about was the spaceship prop I am obsessed with. Thankfully, my cohost Ryan kept me on task, but I took the opportunity to rant about everything I can figure out about the props from the show.
