Logan's Run the Tv series, anyone else a fan?

I know this'll have some of you rolling your eyes but this show has been a guilty pleasure of mine since TNT showed it in the early 1990s (i think it was TNT). It's not the best show but for the budget it isn't too bad, certainly not as bad as the POTA tv show. A few things in the pilot actually make a bit more sense than the movie but god help me i just saw a cactus outside of what's meant to be DC lol. I know these post apocalyptic shows just kinda ran with the idea of devastation but you'd have to have had a lot of cactuses in houses to get this many. POTA did the same thing in the movies where NYC is nothing but sand suddenly instead of normal dirt. Still it's a fun show for the nostalgia factor and it's cheap on amazon for the complete series on 3 discs.

Early '90's?! I was first generation watching that. The film in theaters was the first time I saw boobies! And I loved the book. I was a Logan's Run fan before Star Wars but after Trek.

My friends and I used to watch it when it first premired for a good laugh! :lol

I watched it as a kid, loved the movie of course and looked at a bit of it on youtube since.

I remember the movie being a "sunday" after noon movie on the local channels back when they'd show stuff other than infomercials (that didn't exist). To be fair the tv show is only a year older than me so I had to catch it on reruns. It's odd that with the nudity it was a pg movie back then and it didn't even get censored back in the 80s that much on tv. Now it'd be rated R just for a bit of boob and the naked people in ice lol. Apparently there were some scenes for the movie they couldn't film as they'd have gotten hit with a rating too high for most viewers. The show is for sure typical 1970s silly fun, something we sorely miss in this era of nothing but cop and reality shows. I'd trade 99 percent of modern tv for more shows like this and Barney Miller.
I need to check out the Logan books, I'm annoyed that the last one was a very limited edition e-book.

I was surprised to see some names familiar to Trekkies behind the writing of the episodes of the show, it explains why some of the more serious episodes feel like Trek at times. Now if only they'd made Damnation Alley into a tv series lol

I haven't seen any episodes since they originally were broadcast and I'm afraid to watch them anew. I can't imagine they've aged well, I don't remember them being all that good the first time.

You really need to read the book, way different then the movie.

A few scenes were cut from the Movie due to too much Nudity,ie, the Love Shoppe , and the ice cave.

The book Logan's Run was the first book that literally kept me up all night reading it. I Finished, looked out the window and was shocked to see daylight. Good thing it was summer and not a school night.

Which is surprising as you can actually see a good bit in the ice cave as it is, enough that i've seen it blurred out on tv. I love b movies and tv shows so this was right up my alley. Next up is John Saxon in Planet Earth and him again in Brave New World. I also got Genesis II another failed pilot by Gene that actually had Alex Cord as the same character. I think all I don't have is the Questor Tapes and they didn't really hit me as super interesting. Needless to say the dvd list i gave my parents for christmas raised some eyebrows lol.

I seem to have a vague memory of the existence of this show, but I don't think I ever saw any of the episodes. This came out in the early 90s you say? I thought it came out just a year or so after the movie came out.

I am referancing the Movie not the tv version of it.

You can see some of the scenes cut on the web including Francis-7 hunting and killing a runner solo.

Planet Earth, Genesis-2, Brave New World were all right Questor Tapes meh.

Naw TNT just showed reruns of it on weekday afternoons which is when I first saw it.

Yeah I got the movie on blu-ray as it was cheaper to get a 3 in one blu-ray of a few movies i needed than just one. It came in a set with Omega Man and Soylent green so i really did well on that one.

My brother and I loved the show back in the 70's and were disappointed when it was cancelled...the same with the POTA series and Fantastic Journey.

I remember liking the series back in the day when I was kid, but I suspect it probably hasn't aged well. The movie on the other hand I love to this day. I was amused to see the city scape used as a background In Star Trek V.
