Life Size Dobby - Harry Potter

Next bigger project started. This time we‘re doing a life size Dobby. Base is still printing because it‘s really huge and we decided to print in one piece. The head was done in resin with our Mega 8K in order to achieve best printing resolution. The base and balance if body was printed in FDM technique on our Rat Rig VCore…

Next step we‘ll coat base layer and will add real glass eyes…

Today we did first coating of base layer and test fit of Dobby‘s new clothing…

Next step we‘ll start sanding. Glas eyes are in the preparing…

We‘re on the finish line and applied final base coatings, installed the glass eyes, which even received special mod in order to show small veins…



In next step we‘ll go ahead with the paintjob. In last two steps we‘ll add real hair and nails…

Finally we‘re on the finish line. Today we did the paintjob, the nails and the first part of the base. The base is covered with real sand some dune grass will be added later. Dobby will also receive real hair!
In the big final we‘ll mill a pedestal for this magical display.

Finally we finished the complete display! We added real hair, an nice base for presentation with authentic wording and some grass to achieve an authentic look. The base was milled from oak and the wording was 3d printed…
