Life casting your own head.

I actually instructed two people with zero lifecasting experience in doing a full head/shoulders cast of me last year. (I have done a few heads before though.) It turned out great. Went through the whole procedure, showed them photos... then when My head was covered I "blind wrote" short messages on a pad.

I say just make it a two piece mold... Right side and left side, Mold one half of your head. After that's completed ,and removed, then do the the alternate half. You can make it seamless when you detail the mold.

That sounds like the hardest way possible to do it. You would have to spend twice as long having it done, and how do you go about mating up the 2 mold halves after you remove the first one and make the next?

i did this about a week ago and taught my girlfriend how do to it since there was about a 20 minute gap where i couldn't talk her through it

i cant remember the ebay seller i bought the materials from but it ran me about 30 bucks and i had enough to make two molds this being of the first and the second failing miserably haha

BOBAMAKER has taken a real nice life-cast from Jeremy Bulloch, the actor who played BOBA FETT in ESB and ROTJ
take a look at his website: bobamaker.co.uk

Hey, I did my own back in the day. (The day being one circa 1982.) Maybe if I'd had someone to help, my life would have turned out differently. Maybe I could have been the next Rick Baker... :)

you guys are super helpful, ive got in contact with a local-ish artist who does props for TV and films and specialises in portraits. hoping she'll give me some pointers. Fabrik, Ide happily be your model for a class, but think its like a 3 hour train ride down to you. Ill have a look about up here, since i get free train travel in scotland. so thats obviously a bonus.
