Lich King Arthas

There you go, someone bumped up an old thread with most of the files in it.

http://www.therpf.com/f24/lich-king-hd-pepakura-build-132715/

unfortunately, those are the files I have already downloaded, unzipped and been left wanting. I have deleted, and redownloaded on several occasions. But no worries. I did find a half complete helm file from dungbeetle. I will be using wonderflex and worbla on most of the plate looking stuff. I'm going to the craft store to pick up some clay for smaller detailing bits and I have started making some chain and scale mail using 16gage 5/16th stainless steel rings and the scale mail is 2" aluminum.

wonderful things happen when the blizzard leaves lol Will post pics soon.

So this is the model of the lich king i am using to craft the rest by hand. above is some scale mail and chain mail I had made and not yet had a use for. I have plans I drew up for the rest of it piece by piece that I'll put up later.

Now I'm just waiting on UPS to deliever some more stainless steel rings :) woot progress

If anyone needs the files I have some edited ones on my blog for my pep build. Mostly i took out the time consuming "beaded" edge on the models to save time when cutting.

check the edits out HERE

and the originals posted earlier on here can be found HERE as well

Also, .Obj files can be opened with the pepakura designer program that is free, found HERE

Hope this helps :)

Tremendously helpful! :) I downloaded your shoulder edits and chest piece. Thanks, your craftsmanship on these models is outstanding. After I finish the helm I've started I'm jumping right into those shoulder pieces. :thumbsup

I have a detailed build plan I'll share and use as a check list. I'm excited for the next shipment of jump rings so I can continue my chain maille. So many things :lol

Glad I could help! I would like to see how others are progressing as well. My job and personal life limit me to maybe a day a week for building so any info that is shared as advice or personal experience is cool with me

More jump rings coming in today! More work to do, started cutting the frostmourne file, hopefully start glueing tonight and start on a pauldron tomorrow. I'm gonna save the helm of awesomeness for last. Pics shall be posted within a week I guess :p

I too would like to see the armband scales in detail, I was considering cutting mine from real metal with a press, but that could get tedious at best, and heavy. I'm also not looking forward to wearing chain mail either :/ hahah

These scales are real metal as well, check out www.TheRingLord.com in their scale mail section, you can get punched aluminum scales that look fantastic and are light weight.

Correct, I used the brushed aluminum scales, I will post some pics this weekend.

As fast as the pepakura, I am doing anything that looks like plate mail. So the helm, chest, pauldrons, belt, bracers, sabatons, shin guards and hand plates. Frostmourne is starting as pep, but I am gonna have fun and craft it to be cooler later, make it stronger etc.

The chain maill is gonna be the most tedious, I am probably about 30% done with the chest(not including arms yet XD) and have yet to start on the pants. As soon as the shirt is done, I can craft the scale shoulder pieces in about an hour because I have that larger sheet already done.

Hopefully get to 50% on the shirt this weekend, and Planning on gluing frostmourne pep too!

I wonder if you could save time by not Fully doing the chain mail, but rather only parts of the body where it shows beyond the armor pieces. Not only will that make things easier work wise, but later on it will be easier to wear the costume for a long time and avoid fatigue
