Wow.

Yeah, that map's from the movie.

What's the story on that stuff? Is that something you made to try and get licensed?

Nothing I had anything to do with but it's my understanding that it's licensed goods that are in the pipeline.

Cool that some licensed stuff is coming, but I think the Serenity money is sort of redundant when there have been 2 at cost runs plus people can make their on from scans in the books. They should focus on other things that are more dominant in the films. Map is cool though. :)

Okay, I've been sucked in again. I'm really pretty new to the whole Serenity/ Firefly thing, just seemed to miss it the first time around. I just recently saw the movie on DVD and now I’ll have to go back take a look at the series. I've been checking around all day looking for what's available and here's what the grapevine had for me. Having a graphics business can have it's advantages sometimes.

dude, hardly anyone gave the series a chance, i admit i thought it looked stupid. :unsure

the ads etc. just did not do it justice.

im sure the powers that be were like "space western?" and said to themselves, lets market it more like rehashed unoriginal scifi crap... yeah. thats the ticket...

umm.

my friend FORCED me to watch the movie... i was blown away. so original so artsy so humorous... i cant say enough. then i said, yeah but im sure the series doesnt live up to this standard HA.

then he forced me to watch an episode or 2...

BLOWN AWAY AGAIN...

i blame the people who marketed serenity/firefly not the writer/creators.

yada yada yada... its like a broken record.

really hope that they get some liscensed stuff out, and maybe the HUGE following of people will buy so much they might rethink another series or at least a made for TV movie...

adam baldwin said he would love to do more, where did i get this from?

the horses mouth, over an IPA. (the mans got good taste in beer.) ;)

sad, yes i hung out with one of the actors, only days after actually begining my journey and love for this series/movie.

anyway... BRING ON THE LISCENSED STUFF....

FIGURES SHIPS... WHATEVER... :D

Any plans of a 1:72 scale Serenity Firefly model kit? I gotta ask... 'cause that would be cool, even though more people may prefer studio scale... :rolleyes

Okay, don't all jump on me, this is a genuine question...

....How do licenced props come about a year after a flop movie?

I'm rather surprised to here that there will be more licensed merchandise, but it's GREAT news :thumbsup

It is odd for the props to come a year later...flop movie I think is a matter of opinion, I think the fact that the props are coming a year later is a testament to how Firefly/Serenity is a viral type of thing, it spreads slowly but surely. ;)

By the way, I think a studio scale ship would be like 2 or 3 meters long.

Well... saw pictures of a SS version that was about ½-1 meter in length... or maybe that was merely a fan version... though... it looked mighty impressive.

Wish I could fins a picture of it now... :unsure

Same here, I finally broke down and watched it and I loved it, really got hooked quick and IÂ’ve been on this little Serenity hunt since I heard the rumor of licensed goods.

IÂ’m going to try to get my hands on the electronic press kit the money and map image came from, itÂ’s supposed to have a full product listing and possibly a price list so stay tuned.

WORD...

do you agree that this series/movie was just marketed wrong?

when you saw it wasnt it WAAAY different than what you thought?

i mean i HATE... no I LOATH the new BSG, and thought it to be in the same vein... its just its own thing, and i think the marketing people are to blame... thoughts?

and yes keep us updated G.

As I mentioned on another thread, I have a friend who works at Universal who filled me in on some of this. I don't have all the details but I can confirm a number of replicas are coming soon.

My friend said the piece above will sell for less than 20 bucks, it's limited and everything was scanned right off the screen used props. I believe everything ships in that black box.

I was also able to confirm the Mal pistol is limited to small numbers and there may be a Signature edition. There was also something about another gun replica. Not sure about that one, again, I don't have product descriptions or anything like that yet.

ThereÂ’s also going to be a large scale Serenity replica thatÂ’s on the license list. IÂ’m looking forward to that one.

Press releases for all of these things are scheduled to go out soon.

I don't think it's MR... ;)

Your smiley intrigues me. :D

It's pretty cool that they're finally making licensed props, though. I just hope that I have enough disposable spending money when the Mal pistol comes out, because I'm not gonna wait until they're sold out and buy one on ebay for 3+ times the original price.
