Here is the Liara T'Soni Costume I finished for Dragoncon 2012
I started out making her Purple/Red dress but had serious issues with Fabrics so I decided on the last minute to change to her green dress.
The Dress is made of medium weight 2 way stretch Jersey. I threw the gloves together at the last minute (AKA Sewing them in the Hotel Room!). I plan on remaking them as I want a tighter and more slender appearance.
The Original Head sculpt and Slush Latex Cast was made by The Mad Masker and sent to me as a Raw pull. I started painting it with a Base layer of Blue/Yellow with Monster Makers Latex Paint. I painted the second layer with Alcohol Inks with an Airbrush and the Fine detail was all handpainted using Latex Paints and Metallic Pearl Pigments that I mixed into Pearl Alcohol inks. I use Reel Creations Alcohol airbrush Inks for the Face and blending into the Prosthetic. the first time I did the makeup took around 2 1/2 hours, the second time about 1 hour and 45 minutes. I was very pleased for doing something like this for the first time. I do want to Make my own Sculpt and cast using my Headcast to get a better fit and a thinner seam line. Possibly moving to Latex Foam instead of Slush.
Here's the Original Raw Pull:
Base Layer of Latex Paint.
First Airbrshing Layer. I used a Blue/White mix and Black/Blue for the Gills.
Final Paint Job
Back (I was Really pleased with how it turned out)
And here's the Final Costume. I made the dress in about 6-8 hours or so.
And the best Part. Me and MArk Meer..the Voice of Male Shepard. He's actually a really good friend. My BF is EvilFx and he made him Half Renegade/Half Paragon N7 Armor for the Con. Mark can't do normal costumes...lol
