Hey all!
I hope this is the right place to ask this. Does anybody know where I can find leather to make some gloves, I know the leather is much thinner then regular. Thank you for your time!!

I get mine from thrift stores.. just find a leather coat or skirt in good condition that has large enough panels.. sometimes a LOT cheaper than buying new/retail.

Precisely.
I started out doing this and still go looking quite often as you can grab a top nick jacket or skirt for a couple of quid/bucks.

While you're there, see what other junk they have lying around ;)

Alas, most of our thrift/charity shops are becoming more like chain stores - They sell cheaply made clothes and all have the same 5 toys, 5CDs and 5 unwanted videos...

Tandy leathers is also a source, at least I assume they have the leather for gloves as they have everything else to make gloves.

I will third the thrift store jacket. Cheapest way to get a garment weight leather hide.

I will also second eBay. I purchase hides on the cheap there all the time. You are looking primarily for 2oz and under weight hides. Look at lambskins as they are generally a safe bet for garment weight.

I'll fourth the thrift/charity store. Also, make sure any relatives who have old leather jackets they no longer need or want keep you in mind. I just got a high quality (but out of fashion) leather jacket from my uncle that's going to give me a quiver, bow-quiver and probably a bracer too (yes, I'm an archer).

All of the above are great options. I'd request color samples, if you end-up buying from fabricators.

I get tons of leather gloves made, a year, and they use soft lamb/goat skin, to make them. Resistant, soft and will last a life-time, like most leather goods.

Whenever I was buying leather for gloves, I usually ordered it from this company:
http://sunderlandleather.com/

Specifically ask about either the cabretta (straight-haired sheepskin) or short-haired goatskin (the stuff I actually got). Cabretta is the stuff a lot of gloves like golfing gloves, baseball gloves, etc, is made of. Short-haired goatskin is the stuff this company: www.damascusgear.com uses for their gloves like the search gloves and the driving gloves.

You can ask for samples, too, I believe. I'd suggest the short-haired goatskin, personally. It was really good stuff.
