Lapd uniform

I've tried to have Blue Tiger make me a custom LAPD badge, and even got as far as having them create a digital proof but once I started asking about actually making it/final costs/shipping time they stopped responding.

I know they will make one-piece badges (based on their Blade Runner badge) and four-piece badges (based on their standard LAPD badge) and the prices are based on how many new dies are required for each unique panel.

If anyone has better luck getting an actual badge custom made by them please let me know. I still have several things I'd like to have made.

If I hear anything matey, I'll let you know. I may have to get a standard one and have it modified. I really don't what to have to do that as I already have to do that with the Peak Cap Badges *SIGH*

What modifications are you having to do to the cap badge? There are so many official variations any of those replicas could be "correct" to what the LAPD used.

If you scroll down you'll see the one I mentioned about the cap badge, it had the incorrect eagle.

Hi Ladies and Gents, I am working on an LAPD Uniform and I have hit a brick wall.

I am in need of a LAPD Cap Badge similar to this:

Any help would be most welcomed as I am now struggling.

I don't know if you are still looking but I have that hat badge.. message me back.. drsharony (at) aol (dot) com

Maybe you could contact "It's a Wrap" (itsawrap.com) in Burbank and see what they have. I was there last week for their Halloween costume sale and they did have quite a bit of police outfits available (as well as hats).

that style is still made and readily available as a security guard version. If your crafty you can replace the name plates or simply add a reflective decal over the existing plate. Same with the center seal.

As Dizzy said above, LAPD doesnt wear hats anymore. I live in LA and cant tell you the last time any police dept wore a hat outside of formal appearances.

The center seal will get you in trouble. Ive seen prop people use "challenge coins" but printing your own is much easier.

This particular cap device would be ideal if you're doing a story about the LAPD circa pre-1974 (the year the 'POLICEMAN' and 'POLICEWOMAN' rank titles were discontinued in favour of the 'politically correct' "POLICE OFFICER" rank title
