Landmaster - want to build r/c model

The title is not as descriptive as it could be, also, sorry if this is
not the right spot.

I am wanting to build a large r/c version of the Landmaster
from Damnation Alley - but one of the questions I have,
since I want to have all the wheels driven as in the
movie, does anybody have any idea of how the drive
train was accomplished?

I have photos, but nothing which clearly shows
the back of the tri-star wheel arrangement.

This site:

Chief Delphi - 296's Tri-Star Wheel

Is the closest I can see to something which would
realistically do it - but out of curiosity (I think this
is some kind of dolly for going up stairs) how
robust do folks think this would be on a real
vehicle? What about locking the wheels for
use in water?

Thoughts (I know, I am insane :lol)

Edit: it looks like the wheel arrangement at the
site above is some sort of robotics project.

Looks pretty robust to me, since its made for going up the stairs. I would do individual motors for each set of wheels. That would be the easiest way of doing it. That was a cheesy cool movie though. Ill have to watch it again lol, that would make a good size r/c vehicle.

I loved this movied when I was younger. Good luck with your project, please keep us updated on this. I'm looking forward to seeing it finished!

Looks like the propulsion concept came from this vehicle:

Tri-Star Wheel Background Info

The Lockheed TerraStar - the propulsion
system of the tri star wheels in my first
link is very close to what was being experimented
with.

Fascinating, started drawing out the
wheel assemblies today, just in rough format. :confused
