Hey, all...

For two years now I've been working at building a Lady Predator outfit. I'll add some of the separate armour shots in a bit, but I wanted to show some pics of me wearing it to the Motor City Comic Con 2013 here in detroit first:

Thanks, Chaank... I figured this was an area not often explored, so there'd be plenty of room for me to experiment :-D

Thanks! I need to refine the mechanism for the wrist blades a bit, still. It extends with a spring and trigger, but I want to work out a way to make it retract too.

Thanks, NayrDeathExp... I did want an asymmetrical look for the armour. I didn't even really have a plan for it when I made it. I started with the breast cups, and once I had those fashioned and put together I just sort of winged it.

I scaled everything down for this build because I wanted to avoid the bulky look that all of the guy preds have. i wanted something very sleek and minimalist. Even the shoulder cannon and it's apparatus is miniaturized.

As with all of my outfits, there are still little tweaks that i want to do to it, though.

I've made the suit functional. The lasers in the helmet work with the aid of a remote switch in my right hand for turning them off and on. I have a USB speaker attached to the chest armour which is wired to my ipod shuffle mounted on the left wrist bracer which can play pred sounds, and as I'd mentioned earlier the wrist blades work with a flick of my wrist. But I feel that I can improve upon all of these systems, and so going forward I'll be looking for ways to refine them all.

Wow!Not only one of the best Sci-fi movie/characters ever created, but one of the most under-explored interms of using or creating a female version both in a film and in the costume community! You've got to be one of the first women to make this costume becuase I've not seen one up until yours.

very nice with the details, im loving the sleekness of it, almost wraithlike in comparison of the bulk of male preds, quick question, is that your own hair on the helmet or did you cannibalize a wig? kudos on your awesome build cant wait to see v2

Wow. This is amazing. Your eye for detail, awesome. I thought you Lara Croft outfit was amazing..... Just WOW!!!!!!

Thanks again, everyone!

jamesrgiant... Thank you very much! There *are* other Lady preds out there... but most go the bulky/more traditional route, or they work up a "Machiko" which is based off the character in the graphic novels who goes to join the Predators. I've done a bit of both... I didn't want to be strictly Human in a Hunter outfit like Machiko, but I also didn't want to be pure Yautja, either. I reckon I'm a bit of both... and of two minds, as always :p

DarkJester... It is a mix of my own hair as well as Human Hair Extensions fastened to the Bio Helmet. I have several strands of Human Hair glued around the rim of the bio, with braids and cord wrapped round them to give it a Tribal look, and I also wear my natural hair down, which helps fill in around the back and sides.

Tapper... Thanks! This has been in the closet for two years. I had worn it to a Halloween party immediately after finishing it, and have not done anything with it since.

When MCCC came up, i thought it would be good to bring it back out, and after speaking with another RPFer who had done Predator in the past, it was decided that this would be one of the two outfits that i would debut at the Con.

That certain RPFer had a Lady once upon a time who's Predator outfit was a HUGE inspiration to me, and which heavily influenced my eventual design choices.

Could you show how you are wearing the helmet? It doesn't look like you're using an undermask?

My wife loves Predator. With a costume like this she might actually be willing to put one on and hit up some cons.

I'm not! Since my concept was to not be Yautja, i decided I didn't want an undermask. Instead i scavenged a suspension system out of a bicycle helmet to hold it to my head. It goes on very easy and stays comfortably in place no matter how much I move about. :)

I could snap a photo or two of the inside showing the suspension. It's really a very simple setup.

Hey all...

A bit of an update to this thread.

I've recently attended the Motor City Comic Con 2014 on the 18th of May, and brought along Lady Predator for a new outing with improved wrist bracers, and a few other things:

A few updates to this outfit for the upcoming 2015 Motor City Comic Con...

I've wanted to ditch the hair extensions look and go for dreds. So step one was to come up with an undermask small enough to fit this small Bio Mask. My fiance had purchased an undermask for his Celtic Pred which he ultimately didn't use. So I cannibalised it, cut it all up and fashioned it into this:

I'm now working on attaching dreds:

I opted for the shorter Dred look more like P1... I think it works better with the smaller, almost birdlike look of this Bio mask.

I'll be upgrading the suit as well. We're likely only going to have time to re airbrush it this season. But after Comic Con this year I'm going to latex it and add texture.

Also I'm working on a new wrist blade apparatus, and adding a cover to my wrist blades... so watch out for those updates coming soon.
