L.A. Noire Police Car 1/43

Just for fun, I decided to do a quick little project. I really enjoyed the game L.A. Noire and thought Cole Phelps was hilarious. Anyhow I wanted to make a generic L.A. Noire police car.
It is a 1947 Ford Police Special.

The only one I could find was a diecast 1/43 scale made by DeAgostini in San Diego livery.

Here it is as it came to me:

It is actually pretty well done for its size and theirs looks better than my finished result.

So to get this more L.A. Noire(ish) I needed to get rid of the lights on the roof, switch the siren to the driver side, find Los Angeles decals, get rid of the scallops in the rear quarter panels and get some whitewall tires.

Here is my finished car. It is not totally accurate and my paint sucks. I am okay with that.

So there it is. I still need to get yellow plates. I also would like to get a couple 1/43 scale figures that resemble Cole Phelps and his partner. I am having trouble finding anything though.

I wish I could have found a larger scale plastic model. There is not much I can do with diecast. The metal and the small size put me off from putting much effort into this.
Cheers!

Looks good

have you considered a polishing kit? start with 400 grit and work you way up to 12000, then liquid polish it. I get the little pads from Micro Mark.
Thanks. I do have a polishing kit and at one point had the car polished to 12000. I thought it looked to shiny for the size of the car, at least to my eye anyhow. I did not entirely put too much effort into it because of its size. I wish someone would make a 1/18 scale 1947 Ford. That would be fun. Or.... an Adam 12 car.
