I am planning on joining the 501st and would like to purchase a decent voice changer for Kylo Ren in Ep 7

IMHO, the MiCom is the best sounding rig out there - MiCom Sound Rig
It's limitation is that it relies on pre-recorded sound clips, which the user activates with a set of trigger buttons you wear under your gloves, very similar to how Disney does some of their characters.
If you're looking for a true voice changer, the Boss VE-5 is a good option. It requires some tweaking to get the changer to adjust your voice to match a Kylo-like sound, but the results are very good. The downside is the rig is larger/heavier than the MiCom, but the trade-off is you have more flexibility in that you can actually speak.
