Kolchak: The Night Stalker - His Gear

Speaking of gear, and a tad off-topic but FANATICO are you doing SDCC this year? You’ve got a pretty stylin‘ setup from what I recall!
Not this year at SDCC :( .…I have 4 costumes I could have worn …… but I’ll be damed…..my waistline got the better of me. I couldn’t fit in the pants of any of them. I got to work on my Michelin gut

My last costume worn was the Col. Hogan from Hogans Hero’s at Wonder Con last February ….and even then…I didn’t look like I’ve ever done any boot camp sit-ups. Not exactly an Adonis

:)

Monster kids, appropriately on this Friday the 13th let us wish a happy 50th anniversary to the TV series, Kolchak: The Night Stalker, premiering on ABC September 13, 1974. Unfortunately, it lasted but one season. For me, the episodes are hit/miss, but I love the character and McGavin and Simon Oakland are a blast together.

What horror fan doesn't love them some Kolchak!

Can anyone explain how the tripod adapter/mount attaches to the camera body? I'm either being dumb or the adapter has an issue.

Um, it works if you do it right..! Doh!

So glad to have gotten a camera last year and tripped of a (not cheap) adapter.

Insert the adapter/flash contact to the camera's side with the tripod bushes facing the rear. There are two curved grooves on the camera and the adapter, next to flash contacts, where the adapter locks into once you rotate the adapter. Pull down on the small lever, to disengage the two lock pins, then press/rotate the adapter 90 degrees so the tripod bushes is facing up. The adapter should be secured to the camera. From there you can attach a flash shoe to the adapter via tripod bushes so you can mount a flash unit. The flash cord can be plugged into the adapter for the flash to operate.
