Recently (since the new Knight Rider series), I began to think about the original Knight Rider and the front nose scanner. I decided to make a scanner using High FLUX LEDs. The tough part was getting the LEDs to respond like Halogen incandescent bulbs and fade back and forth creating a "comet like tail" effect.

P.S. The NEW Knight Rider scanner is made up of approx. 480 surface mount red LEDs (240 per side). 3 rows of 80 LEDs per side.
