finally also cleaned the starboard side of the shuttle,
putty'ed the intakes and test fitted them.

Thats looking really good.
Is that the one from Target?
Used to work there overnight and in 2006 they got these shuttles in. Everyone one kept asking if I was going to get one once the store opened......and they were right.
Sadly had to sell it around 2009 or 10 for money and mostly the space.

As far as I can see, Bandai hasn't ever made a shuttle have they?
They would be one to probably get it pretty accurate.
I can see that the Kenner toy is pretty close....funny, as those type toys are usually the ones that get it most wrong.

The only kit that was quite accurate was made by Anigrand but it was in 1/144 scale :

Here's a picture of that Anigrand Lambda Shuttle made by Ryan posted at the Resin Illuminati website :

Question...
What are you planning to do with the internal wing mechanisms? I'm just wondering if there's enough tension on the wings to hold a folded position without the orginal toy mechanics, or will you have to build something to facilitate this?
Very impressive work going on here.

Amazing transformation. This shuttle has been on my list of imperial vehicles to get for quite sometime.
