Just a heads-up. Taking an extended break, future runs, etc

Hey guys,

Just a quick heads-up regarding future runs and any prop related business. I'll be wrapping things over the next couple months and then taking an extended break from the hobby. I don't want to say I'm getting out all together but it's possible depending on how this thing goes with my wrists.

As some know, I've wrestled with CT over the years and it's always at it's worst in the middle of a prop run. It's odd too, I participate in some pretty goofy sports that cause me no problems at all...

All drama aside, nothing hurts when I'm not building. So, faced with the option of Surgery or prop making....well, you get it. Like I said, I'm not sure what all my options are at this point.

Anyway, I've already retired several pieces this summer. In fact, outside of 'whatever' dead-stock is at the machine shop, just about anything I've done till now won't be offered again.

I'll start an appropriate thread in the Junkyard for those pieces soon. (Let's not turn this one to a reserve thread because I don't want it to be moved.)

So, there ya have it. I'll see how this wrist thing goes and wrap up these final pieces before a bit of a break. All other pre-orders and any pending business should be wrapped up soon. Just PM me if you have any concerns.

Thanks guys!

Rylo

Good luck with that.

I had it for awhile, but a few shots of cordrazone (sp), wrist guards and exercises rid me of it.

I share your pain & will miss your props (for awhile).

Take care,
Mike

Rylo: I had a similar but probably not as serious problem and I discovered that it was all the computer work I was doing related to the run, not the actual labor of assembling the props.

I made some changes at my computer desk and it got better.

I'm not saying this is what's causing your problem but I didn't think it would hurt to share my experience with you.

I hope everything works out for you.

Thank you...

Body mechanics may well be to blame here. I've entered long periods of relief before. Things are more than managable when I'm not building or spending a great deal of time on-line.

Gonna try the shots too as Goobic mentions above. I figure I'll exhaust all other options, before going for the endoscopic release.

I'm sorry to hear that its still causing you some pain.

Try the shots and hopefully that will do the trick.

You know I wish you all the best!

Thanks guys. Man, I'm a little surprised by all the PMs from other prop makers who have or are just starting to have the same problems.

I wish someone had told me years ago to stretch my hands out every 30 or 40 minutes. Breaks do wonders, too!

So, a tip to the new guys. STRETCH those hands out...take breaks!
