Just a few things I've got on the bench...

Back in mid-June, although we hadn't had many good days of warm, dry weather (lots of overcast, rainy days) I was able to get a fair amount of finishing work done on a bunch of pieces I'm doing up for a friend here:

NEM Dolphin Phaser

VOY Boomerang Phaser -- Pic 01
VOY Boomerang Phaser -- Pic 02 (there was a lot of air bubbles on the bottom, so I sanded everything down and replaced the details with thin sheet styrene; can't even tell at this stage of completion)

VOY "Endgame" Phaser -- Pic 01 (heavily modified stock NEM phaser, done by me; based on pics of the one in Kev's collection)
VOY "Endgame" Phaser -- Pic 02 (lots of heavy sanding and reshaping was involved for this one, lol)
VOY "Endgame" Phaser -- Pic 03 (comparison shot with a stock NEM phaser)
VOY "Endgame" Phaser -- Pic 04 (another comparison pic of the two)

Miarecki Cricket Phaser -- Pic 01 (painting this in the same colour scheme as Ed originally did on the ones he sold; silver with grey thumb pad)
Miarecki Cricket Phaser -- Pic 02

VOY Hypospray -- Pic 01 (though somewhat smaller than the screen-used version, this one is nicely and accurately detailed)
VOY Hypospray -- Pic 02 (still have to mask off part of the grips to apply the VOY medical blue)
VOY Hypospray -- Pic 03

Mk X Tricorder -- Pic 01 (the main resin-cast body was horribly warped when I received this, now corrected)
Mk X Tricorder -- Pic 02 (as this came with no back panel, I had to fabricate one out of sheet styrene and shape it to fit)
Mk X Tricorder -- Pic 03 (had to remove the original screen area as there were some holes in it, and replace it with a new one)

And there you have it. All the above I managed to do in a two-day period that week.

Since then we've been getting a lot of cold or rainy days that haven't allowed me to go outside and do more, but as the weather was good today I was finally able to make a little more progress on these:

VOY "Endgame" Phaser -- Pic 05 (I sooo wish I could mold/cast one of these for myself, lol)

VOY Boomerang Phaser -- Pic 03 (tried a flat black on the thumb pad to see how it would look; I think I'll stick with the gloss black, lol)

Miarecki Cricket Phaser -- Pic 03 (I used Krylon Shadow Grey for the thumb pad; looks pretty good, imho)

VOY Hypospray -- Pic 04 (I realize I probably didn't use the correct blue for it, but I worked with I had available here; money's kinda tight for me to be buying up all sorts of prop supplies)
VOY Hypospray -- Pic 05
VOY Hypospray -- Pic 06 (still, I think it turned out pretty well; there's enough of a contrast between the two colours you can easily tell what version of the Hypospray it's supposed to be)

Well, that's it for now. Would've gotten more done sooner if 1) I wasn't working such odd hours, and 2) we hadn't been getting such crummy weather that didn't allow me outdoors to work on these.

Hopefully I'll be able to finish these off soon and get them back to their rightful owner.

Another quick update on these:

The Miarecki Cricket Phaser is nearly done; just have to figure out what to do for the button and PLI graphics. The Mk X Tricorder needs a new coat of paint and the transparent screen area put in place, but it'll be close to done soon enough.

And, of course, the VOY Hypospray is the only one 100% finished so far. It's sitting pretty in the box I'll be sending these back to the original owner in.

I know this is a bit of a necro-post (been well over a year since I last posted here), and it's been a while since I sent these back to their owner, but I just wanted to show how the above pieces ended up:

Various Props -- Pic 02

I left the Miarecki Cricket Phaser as it was as of the last update, since I don't have any skill at doing up graphics (nor do I have any such software on my computer to try and do them myself). The owner said he knows one or two folks he can go to to get the graphics done, so that's good.

Btw, I am aware the VOY Hypospray isn't sporting the correct (or dark enough) shade of blue, but I simply worked with what I had available at the time. The two-tone colour scheme is still noticeable, just not as much as on the screen-used version.

I can't get over how well that "Endgame" Phaser turned out. Took a helluva lot of time and effort with my Dremel tool to get it looking like the one I've seen. Think I did a pretty good job on it. Now I only wish I'd been able to make one like that for myself, lol.
