Jurassic Park Worker with Velociraptor Costume

Here's a video of the costume I put together for Halloween this year. I still need to put some bracing in the bottom of the box to keep it from twisting a bit better, but otherwise I'm happy with it.

I used an Adafruit sound board for the dinosaur sounds. There's three tiny buttons that my right hand is triggering for the sounds. The theme music is streaming off my phone into a Bose SoundLink Mini via Bluetooth. The hardhat is the same type used in the movie. The BDUs, boots, and tactical vest are off the shelf. The box is made from EVA foam. The fake left arm is a random Halloween prop. I also made one of the big tasers from the movie, but it's strapped to my back and not all that visible in the video.

This is awesome! I was just thinking the other day how much I love those costumes where one half of your body is something else. Then I thought, how do you do it different? How do you take it to the next level. This is clearly it!

After shooting the video I added some cross-bracing to the box and now it doesn't twist much at all anymore. I'll try to get a better video at a costume party I'm going to tomorrow afternoon. Also, in case anyone is interested, the velociraptor puppet is an official Jurassic Park toy that was originally sold in 1997 when Jurassic Park 2 was released. I managed to find one used on Ebay to use for the costume. It's only the upper half of the velociraptor's body, so I put a lot of straw in the box all around it to conceal where my arm goes into it.
