hey there my names jeff and i wanted to post my halo reach jun build, i just got into armor making after my son talked me into it it took us a few weeks but i think they are looking pretty good for for two people that had to watch youtube videos to figure it out haha. I was going to enter in the halloween contest but Im a little late to the party due to an account error we use the same computer but either way its cool to see what people think of your hard spent time!

this is my proof photo to prove i made my armor

this is where i learned that no matter how many layers of plastidip you use (8 Layers in the photo) you still have to do many many layers of paint when you use the foam.

Here we have my paint center that took up my whole living room for atleast a week, i used acrylic paint over the top of my spray paint to add color to my battle damage that i tore into the foam with different tools.

i had originally wanted to do an urban camo but scratched that idea after i realized how many layers of paint id of had to stop from seeping through the tape, decided to take a more original approach.
IMG_4146.JPGafter seeing how well a one piece vest worked to slide on and off i decided to use the same method vs using a ton of straps and buckles so it fits a little loose but i can take it all off in one swing,

decided to do the Odst chest piece because i wanted to be able to watch a video on how to make it at the same time as i made it and my son had shown me his chest he made using DaFrontlineTroopers videos and they were easy to follow for a begginer

here we have the whole suit custom made arms and shoulders tried to match the jun character even made some 50. bullets out of crayola markers (worked pretty well) im not super into taking photos every step like my son but whenever he was around i had him take some progress shots to show my buddies. the day after halloween we decided to go take some pictures my sons pretty into this so he had some props and ideas heres just a few from the camera i had.

we actually built this fake device for paintball a few months back using two leaders and old computer parts actually turned out really nice

he told me spartans have to look more beast then Odst so we came up with this shot

i like this one because you can really see the detail and battle damage i tried to put into the armor.

i hope you guys liked it sorry there were not more pictures if i had to pass on any advice from this id say to just take it step by step day by day, draw out the plans for a piece and cut it out one day try to make a set every time you sit down because the days fly by and it could be a week before you get back it was nice to just do a leg or both legs at once take a break and come back to the arms take a day then do some detail.
